Holy Cow! Right there with Jesus Camp.

Man, you can count on the Republicans to pick someone like that to rouse the Evangelical base. You catch her first tele interview? I can't even believe someone who doesn't *get* what the Bush Doctrine is is actually one of the candidates for the world's most powerful executive office. It blows my mind. Either the Right is desparate or downright diabolical.

As opposed to Obama's "God damn the US of KKK?" Church?

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

Be sure to watch the videos and read the articles.

You guys are basing your view of her church off one video... only fair you watch the inspiration for Obama's book "The Audacity of Hope", the man that married him, baptised his children AND brought him into the Christian Faith.

Fair's fair ya know.

Neither was Palin. She was riffing off of that guy... Abe Lincoln.

Yeah, Pray we ARE on God's side.

Helps to know what you are talking about bud not just spewing talking points from Chris Mathews.

Quote:
PALIN: But the reference there is a repeat of Abraham Lincoln's words when he said -- first, he suggested never presume to know what God's will is, and I would never presume to know God's will or to speak God's words.

But what Abraham Lincoln had said, and that's a repeat in my comments, was let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God's side.
Palin and God's Will - Parableman

now I've seen it contested that Lincoln never said that, I've read he said something similar. The sentiment still stands and is one that I share with her.

I love how quick you are to bemoan a single video reported to show what Palin believes, but you ignore all of of Obama's "religion".

um guess you didnt see the video. Where she asks students to pray for troops in Iraq and then offers this gem:

Quote:
Quote by: Sarah Palin
Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan.

You mean this Abraham Lincoln?

Quote:
Quote by: Abraham Lincoln
Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes his aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not that we be not judged.

My earlier views of the unsoundness of the Christian scheme of salvation and the human origin of the scriptures, have become clearer and stronger with advancing years and I see no reason for thinking I shall ever change them.

What is to be, will be, and no prayers of ours can arrest the decree.
It will not do to investigate the subject of religion too closely, as it is apt to lead to Infidelity.

The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession.

The only person who is a worse liar than a faith healer is his patient.

The United States government must not undertake to run the Churches. When an individual, in the Church or out of it, becomes dangerous to the public interest he must be checked.
Quote:
Quote by: Mary Todd Lincoln
Mr. Lincoln's maxim and philosophy were: 'What is to be, will be, and no prayers of ours can arrest the decree.' He never joined any Church. He was a religious man always, I think, but was not a technical Christian.
Quote:
Quote by: Judge James M Nelson
In religion, Mr. Lincoln was about of the same opinion as Bob Ingersoll, and there is no account of his ever having changed. He went to church a few times with his family while he was President, but so far as I have been able to find out, he remained an unbeliever. Mr. Lincoln in his younger days wrote a book, in which he endeavored to prove the fallacy of the plan of salvation and the divinity of Christ.

Obama is not a member of the Assemblies of God nor the breakoff Third Wave. Obama is a part of the Trinity United Church of Christ. And to my knowledge, they dont speak in tongues and they don't have convulsions on stage. They dont go chanting "this world has nothing for me"

The christian religion has many thousands of breakaway branches anyway. Assemblies of God and the third wave is one of the wackiest out there.

What Lincoln said and Palin linked her church comments to was that we should not worry about if God is on our side but rather that we should try to be on God's side. If God wants us to be there then its a moot point whether God told Palin to fight a crusade or whether Palin just happens to think that fighting a crusade is what God would want.

Obama, meh. Wright's black Jesus threw me a bit. However what's he going to do? Obviously he's not going to cancel affirmative action but I grudgingly accept that based on what I've seen.

I think it goes without saying the any suggestion to invade Canada is mind-numbingly stupid.

Political & Religious Assessment

I am not fanatical in my personal beliefs, but rather a stone-cold realist. I do not 'cut and paste' my personal belief systems on emotional content: facts are facts, and grey-areas are grey-areas!
I believe the human-race is on the verge, and past a cross-roads of an oncoming worldwide cataclysm. Involving a world war for last remaining resources, geological upheaval, terrorist attacks using WMD, cyberwar Internet outages, limited(?) asteroid impact, off the chart climate changes, and generally an acceleration of Earth's sixth mass-extinction process. You may say I'm a doomsayer, but I predict 'WATER' will replace the gold-standard, and gold transactions will be out-lawed as they were during the 1930's Great Depression. This time worldwide hyperinflation will give way to a global depression state.
This is what the candidates of the 2008 U.S.
elections are going to be facing. I have heard others say, and I also feel it, that Barack Obama strikes a terrifying nerve within the human psyche, that cries out the same image from the politician in the 'Dead Zone' series!
None of the politicians are up for the mountainous challenges ahead!
We are entering a period of geo-political realignment on the worldwide chessboard toward world war. China will invade Taiwan, and attack the United States with all-out CyberWar, then foreclose on the U.S. National Debt. Russia will continue it's current stance of Cold War position, and enter into public alliance with China. Russian bombers will be used for more than fly-bys! Iran joining this alliance (which is already in progress now), will mine and attack a U.S. Naval blockade in the Persian Gulf, and probably sink ships in the Straights of Hormuz, not to mention releasing missiles and death-squads against U.S./coalition forces. Venezuela and if anything is left of North Korea will also join the enemy axis powers. India will break away from China & Russia to join the U.S. coalition. Pakistan teetering on the verge of collapse will probably fall to the enemy axis. --- Well you can guess the rest!
My statements are not based upon religion, but upon the strategic elements of chess, and if something does not intervene in human affairs soon, then the Biblical Apocalypse shall become true -- by our own design. We are losing the final element of 'choice', and time is running out. The ostrich will get it's tail-feathers blowed off, if he/she believes the dangers will just go away! Is there a candidate alive, that could navigate this possible future prediction???

Diabolical? What SHOULD blow your mind is the Democrats choosing an Arab (Iranian) sympathizer. Only Communists and other anti-Americans could even begin to think of voting for a Muslim like Hussein Obama.

Jesus Camp should replace the public school system...it's not too late for America...yet.

Palin will be the best thing for this country since the Revolutionary War!

No, he's the one visiting privately with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I wonder what their plot will be when Obama fails terribly to attain their lofty goal. Yes, America is FULL of idiotic morons with decimated brains but not enough to elect a traitor and non-American. It won't happen no matter how wistful the uneducated of America.

Being ecstatic in the worshiping of the Lord is MUCH better than being ecstatic in a gay parade or Mardi Gras or Marilyn Mansion concert...much, much better. Until you've been filled with the Holy Spirit, you'll just have to look on with wonder and disbelief.

Quote:
Why in Christianity is life something to be endured?
Because Christians are persecuted for their belief. Still, you've got it wrong. Though Christians do indeed endure life, they do it with a zest that can't be even closely approximated by sex, drugs, or rock & roll. Christians are the happiest people in the world...even when abused to the point of death. You can't imagine the joy that you are missing (by not being a Christian).

Quote:

No, Obama is a Muslim, no matter what he tries to make you believe.

Quote:

The christian religion has many thousands of breakaway branches anyway. Assemblies of God and the third wave is one of the wackiest out there.
Opinions and beliefs are as varied as fingerprints and snowflakes. Hence, the Christian religion is splintered, politics is divisive, and clothes, cars, and houses come in many different styles and colors and pies come in many different flavors and art is best explained as "different strokes for different folks".

Obama is only pretending to be a Christian (as advised by his ambitious wife) in order to attain the presidency. He chose Wright's church because of their similar disdain for America and white people, in general.

It's a tragedy that, in America, people are so naive and easily deceived. There are a few genetically superior people who are able to reason undefiled by rhetoric, propaganda, and deception...tragically few.

Can you say Amen...or rather, a woman? You go girl!

There is only one right answer and, yet, you still argue with me..

I'm the proof that evolution works...

You're the proof that it doesn't.
