Now to me the test of something/someone being a prophet is for useful prophecies to actually be made and that the prophecy accuracy be shown to better that chance or a well informed expert (i. e. the writers of the Bible were human so naturally they can predict regular sort of human behaviors).
Do you believe the Bible has prophetic capabilities ? If so please give me some examples of fulfilled predictions but most significantly I need prediction for the future so that I can record them and see if they come true. If you believe the Bible prophetic but cannot provide said prophetic proof , why do you hold to such an unsubstantiated position ? |
I don't think biblical writers nor Jeane Dixon were better at predicting the future than science fiction writers, or those who wrote fictional novels of the future, such as "1984" and "The Brave New World". As you say, it is all being human and capable of having a good idea of what will happen. Draughts, plagues, famines, wars have always been a part of our lives. When Mount Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 63, people thought is was the end of the world. It was a pretty ideal time for the Hebrew Savoir to show up. The decadence and economic trouble of Rome, made the last days even more believeable.
