Would pls clarify your statement.
By the way one billion Muslims and hundreds of thousands of newly muslims cant be misguided. May be you who is misguided to standing about the stratight path of God

Again If you have in mind any bad understanding just say it to be discussed. I will appreciate it.
smartcode anyone who follows with thought the words of another are in my opinion misguided, the fudge their own responsibility to find out the truths of life and love and can only function because of laws they cannot completly inderstand.

Just a view, no problem with any Muslims or Christians, just the books they live by :)

Well, here is what you can find at WWW.SISTANI.ORG

84. The following ten things are essentially najis: 1. Urine 2. Faeces 3. Semen 4. Dead body 5. Blood 6. Dog 7. Pig 8. Kafir 9. Alcoholic liquors 10. The sweat of an animal who persistently eats najasat [i.e., unclean things].
Kafir .... # 8.... Infidel.... That's me, and 99% of everybody else on this site. Isn't it the contamination of these najis that must be ritualistically cleansed from the bodies of the faithful? How in the world do they deal with the mosquitos in our country? They've got to be a naji nightmare... transfering the blood (1) of the drunken (2) pig-eating (3) infidel (4) into the bloodstream of the faithful Muslim in about 3 seconds. What a mess

Thats absurd and irresponsible for someone to actually say that. Infidels/kaafirs (non believers) are not impure, everything else is impure. I must admit your signature wyoguy is very accurate.

techliveadmin, care to link to sites other then Muslim support sites?

About the washing thing...I'm sure God only cares about whats inside, not whats outside The ritual, IMO, does not make sense.

How was that irresponsible for him to say that? Just because someone may have a different view doesn't make it absurd or irresponsible. Though some Muslims do believe that...look at those people who change from Islam to Christiantiy in a Muslim nation...they dion't usually last too long...

Catch me if you can.

No, I think you misunderstood me, the website from whom he got the quotes from, it was irresponsible for him to post something like that. The Great Ayatollah, he's Iranian, Shia Muslim, wayyyyyy different beliefs than mine :) Thy think its wise to cut and beat themselves to feel pain :-o

I don't think so. I am a sunni muslim. Sunni- Sunnat - Teachings and Learnings of the Prophet Muhammad (saw).

Glad you liked it tech. I thought it only fair to post a warning. I am generally despised throughout this site because I hold to a Calvinistic type of reformed Christianity. I have yet to bump into another like myself. I can sympathize with your plight, however. Because I profess a faith in Christ, many of the people in here automatically lump me into a group that is not consistant with my beliefs.... Roman Catholicism, Right wing activists (abortion clinic fire bombers and the like). I am glad that I have been able to get under your skin (mosquito reference) but it is more of an opportunity for you to present your "conservative" Muslim beliefs than it is a personal attack on you. Please take it as such. You are going to bump heads with some stout atheists in here and I expect them to give you the same that they've given me. In fact I will be disappointed if they don't.

If so many people can be Muslim and be "crazies" (I wouldn't call it a small bunch, there are entire countries full of them), then why is Islam so special? Obviously the people who are good muslims would be good PEOPLE regardless of whether or not they were muslim. The "bad muslims" would be bad people as well, regardless of whether or not they were muslim. A religion does nothing to make a person good or bad. The good person will see the good in his religion and follow that, the bad person will narrow in on the things that fit his "evil" worldview and exploit them.
I'm not sure about Matt, but this is the kind of statement that will get me arguing, if not debating. Everyone, and I mean everyone, who has a mother, sister, daughter or wife is very very happy that my religion got a hold of me even if they aren't aware of it yet. (I'd include a little
'lol' right about here if I weren't so serious). I was way bad and still have a long way to go. Religion (or lack thereof) has a lot to do with how people behave. There aren't many Muslims in my neck of the woods and I am willing, if not anxious to engage some in a meaningful conversation. This thread started out with Muslim treatment of women but it can, and has, taken turns along the way. Tech's adherance to the Sunni faith is apparently quite different from the Shia site I drew from (my own ignorance). Point is, any text, whether religious or secular, can be quoted, drawn from, re-interpreted to seemingly justify heinous acts. Heck, Darwin's work has been used by more than a few nut jobs to denegrate black folks ever since it was first published. Anybody want to go on record as saying that Hitler's "master race" wasn't built on Darwin's shoulders?

Yep, because I don't like debating my own faith, therefore I don't bring it up. But if people bring up other religions, I'll debate them.
