![]() Outlaw Mustela Location: The Woods. Posts: 38 | My opinion on Islam is the same as my opinion on Judaism and Christianity: a load of archaic nonsense peddled by fundamentalist bigots and control-freaks intent on robbing the rest of us of the right to live in peace. |

| Sedimentary Rock Location: Chicago, Illinois Posts: 17 | My opinion being just that; opinion is Islam (def. submit, surrender) proclaims to be a religion of peace and one certainly does not get the impression they support the rest of the world in obtaining peace. Very seldom do you see a Muslim leader at a press conferance or such denouncing terrorism and extremests, even by those free here in America. It is what I find most disturbing, the silence is deafening and I believe adds to the justification the radicals feel. It is a religion wraught with hypocrisy; not only on a terror level, but within their own society and daily lives. Perhaps this is from where the hostilities for western culture derives. Islam is just like any other religion - based on outdated concepts with a tendancy towards celebrating the extremists. Sad, but true. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered. -George Best, on being asked what he did with his footballing fortunes. |

I do agree it is a religion based on outdated concepts as are others. " The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they're ignorant, it's just they know so much that isn't so" - R W Reagan

I excuse all of you for the bad impression about Islam. It is related to the very corrupted picture drawn by the media. I may refere you to a small clip about an American girl was asked about the violance in Islam then you will hear the answer from her. She answered " yes it is my religion and it's been hijacked" She knows that these clips are displayed in the media to corrupt the picture of the Islam. She knows that Islam is the religion of tolerance.

| Sedimentary Rock Location: Chicago, Illinois Posts: 17 | Thanks again...Wise young lady there.... and I definitely agree. I guess that is my point overall. Trust me, I do believe the media has participated to a large extent in the corrupted picture of Islam. Do you see a movement of sorts among Islam to change that picture? If so, please quote objective sources and I will be happy to oblige. Until then, I will stand behind my original statement. Furthermore, the same can be said for the anti-American media in the Middle East as well. Is there a popular media source there which conveys Americans are on their side? That our intent is not domination and extinction of the culture and religion, but is an honest effort to end tyranny and the suffering, murder and torture of countless Muslims at the hands of their own? And that we have proven that honest intent with our own blood? With our own money to the detriment of our own economy and united society? Not only to the detriment of America but the world as whole, regardless of their respective religions and cultures? My impression of Islam is not corrupted by the media, my view of Islam is tainted by the fact that I think all religions are man made, and therefore bunk. Man made God, not the other way around. | Off his rocker Posts: 96 | I believe that the perception that Muslims(or any other "group", whether religious or not, for that matter) belong to a singular group with universal traits is a mistake. Yes, Muslims see them and others as belonging to this single group, but every single Muslim has an at least slightly different definition of what the group IS. Please don't hit me |
