| Molten Ash Location: Pennsylvania Posts: 71 | I think it's shoplifting, are you serious , sex with anyone without their permission is rape, but let me ask a question ; If you engage in necrophilia , since the person is technically no longer a person theyre a corpse , is it rape???? Inquiring minds want to know ? Guess my Glasgow Coma scale score and win a prize!!!! |

| Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 4,943 | Well, it is kind of funny in the context of shoplifting, a prostitute does sell sex. Plus, I doubt the dude actually raped a prostitute and is comeing to us for legal advice. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

| No prisoners! Location: Southern Ontario, Canada Posts: 954 | I don't want to be an a**hole about this, but just because the person in question "sells sex" it doesn't follow that raping them is "kind of funny". I've made my point. There is little to add except that if I caught the OP raping a "working girl" I would do what I could to pull the bastard off her. Would you? I suspect you would. As would Isherwood, I don't doubt. |

| Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 4,943 | I have not found the act of rape to be funny in many contexts, but that's not the funny part here, its the comparison of shoplifting, stealing a product, to stealing a prostitute's "product". It's not a joke for everyone, it requires some amount of immaturity, or whatever isherwood and I have in common that makes us find it funny in a horribly dark way. And Yes, I'd imagine I'd do quite a bit more than pull him off, for some reason breaking an arm and castration come to mind, but then again I probably wouldn't stop to ask "I know you're probably anxious, but I have a few questions about your sexual habits" There's the dark humor again. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

I mean, come on, who would seriously ask if raping a hooker was shoplifting? The context suggested an absurd situation I found funny. Also in states where prostitution is legal it would viewed as kidnapping and you would have to pay for the service provided which you stole. I assume, but do not know of any cases about that. Most postitutes have a bodyguard (pimp) who would prevent that from happening, the basic rule being - pay the lady or get your legs broken. | |

![]() BANNED Location: between the good and the bad Posts: 1,330 | Its not funny really, and the topic sender is a bit slow to say the least, to actually believe this as some form of ingenious wit to be marveled over. I'm sure all his Neanderthal mates down at the local laughed their thick dull witted skulls off when he managed to think this one up ten beers into the night Anything to do with prostitution is incredibly sad. |

| Altruism Assassin Location: Massachusetts Posts: 4,943 | I meant you as in "one", English really should have a neutral , coverall pronoun like french and other languages. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

| 99 Red Balloons Location: Washington DC Posts: 274 | I'd say rape. A prostitute has every right to say no to a prospective customer. That is, the deal has to be made before the desired price is set. Without that deal, without that consent, it just isnt shoplifting. Its also rape no matter what. |

| formerly Isherwood Location: San Diego, CA Posts: 12,997 | If the OP had asked, "if a schizophrenic threatens suicide, do we have a hostage situation?" would anyone have taken it as a joke, or would everyone have denounced mocking schizophrenics or argued that suicide isn't funny?
