| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 4 | Bernard Shaw and Muhammad The Irish playwright George Bernard Shaw, though an atheist, said: "I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion far from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today Shaw also stated that "If any religion has a chance of conquering England ,nay Europe, within the next hundred years, that religion is Islam." He said about the prophet Mohammad (PBUH) : He was by far the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He preached a religion, founded a state, built a nation, laid down a moral code, initiated numerous social and political reforms, established a powerful and dynamic society to practice and represent his teachings and completely revolutionized the worlds of human thought and behavior for all times to come |

I know I wouldn't put up with that sh*t. As a matter of fact, such a regime would make many enemies: women Christians Jews gays atheists cattle ranchers pig farmers the hairdressing industry the fashion industry fishers of shellfish butchers historians male ob/gyns pizzerias burger restaurateurs scientists fans of democracy and due process opponents of the death penalty bankers lenders credit card companies artists, especially cartoonists alcohol makers anyone who enjoys an occasional drink (prohibition part 2!) the Irish pro-choicers fans of many forms of entertainment and many, many more!!! As for the OP, so what? Tom Cruise is a Scientologist, BFD!!! Being famous =/= validity of a religion. Many seemingly smart or popular people believe way far out stuff. Shirley McLane believes she's had many "past lives" that she claims to remember bits and pieces of through hypnosis and se'ances. If she's right, wouldn't that make the Abrahamic god's story invalid? Should we give credence to any of these people? I say no. God is superfluous, nuff said ![]() Life Made Easy, without a god Big Bang Misconceptions String Theory for the Layman | |

It might equilibrate with time, but it takes a psycho to take over the entire world. No matter how you look at it: someone who wants to have power over every last human being has a screw loose and a wire crossed somewhere, no matter how benevolent he may pretend to be. (Death Note!) And Tom Cruise is a great counterexample, I just have to say. Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. -- Song 8:6 |
