![]() veri-debateable Location: jersey Posts: 9 | lust? why is lust a bad, sinful nature through the eyes of god? I mean some of the negative impulses or actions brought about by lust are christianly inappropriate or frowned upon by the heavens such as rape murder theft or even slander, but i mean you cannot say that there are no positive outcomes to a harmless lust such as working harder to feel deserving of what you have become so damn lusty for what if a woman wears really slutty outfits bringing the lust of a man or lesbian woman to the max attracting such attention that may make the slut feel uncomfertable, for example say a lesbian cops a feel of those busty breasts covered practically nothing well maybe that slut will decide to wear a shirt or religious robe to keep from having such an experience in the future.? So why is lust considered such a sin in the eyes of god? Veri-debatable |

Christian (and possibly Jewish / Islamic, although I am more uncertain on those points) condemnation of lust derives in large part from Plato's writings on the subject (see his dialogue, Symponsium). Personally, I think distinguishing lust from personality attraction was a big mistake, as the two are best taken together if an effective relationship is to be developed. Many contemporary theists take this view, although they are likelier to use the word 'sexual attraction' than 'lust', because of the negative connatations of the word in their faith. Desires can be fulfilled or denied, but their perpetual presence in our being prevents us from simply ignoring them. And how you react to your desires will be the mark of your character. – K.H.Y. |

REVEREND SUN MYUNG MOON: "For husband and wife to focus just on each other is parasitic because they are living off others. We all depend on other elements. All mankind, including such a couple, is indebted to the universe. Man represents heaven and woman earth, and all parts of heaven should freely pass through them and connect in them. That is how we were created to live. The universe supports us in every way, giving us air, water, food and love." Grandpa h. Anyway I don't see any way you could consider lust a sin, its a very basic human emotion to feel lust. All it is is the urge to reproduce, so its more of a primative instinct than an emotion. And if were all going to hell for feeling lusty everytime we see a woman in a bikini than heaven is going to have a population of 12. | |

![]() Sedimentary Rock Posts: 12 | I was being sarcastic. :) Lust isn't something you can control, and I doubt that you can be condemned to Hell for something as silly as that. However, if that is the case, I'll be tackling Hell with nothing but a thong bikini and wet t-shirt. |

| pregnant with truth Posts: 2,165 | I'm over risks. Longing for some good ol healthy lust. Don't wanna hurt nobody. However, since I'm still under contract, I uphold the vows. For me, if it's bad it's not fun (in these matters). Sucks to have inhibitions. Everyone else is having so much fun |

| Molten Ash Location: Republic of Texas Posts: 58 | There are many aspects to lust: it is usually a fuse into the other areas of sin or the commandments. You truly can not break one command without breaking them all. It truly comes down to only one command on a large scale: Love God with all your heart, and in that the others will be upheld, but to look at it from the perspective of Gods and Mans aspects, the Love God takes care of the divine and the Love Brother the Flesh, but you cant have the one without the other. They tie together as one. Lust tears apart the fabric of trust and love for Father God and his Laws. It sows the seeds of dissent and propagates the desire of action to make a forced revolt towards God and your duty. |
