| Hucking Fuskies Location: Conn Posts: 2,489 | I can't find the quote. I google'd militant atheism and quoted it from a source. The points on extremism seem well enough. Extremism when used a viewpoint is exactly like what is said. The tendency to focus on one negative aspect or generalizations. This site does have people who do engage is "extremist" forms of debate. Such as generalizing all christians as selfish because they worship in order to enter heaven. Yes that has been brought up on the forums along with other examples used as a generalization to paint all theists the same. I think militant also works. If Dawkins is suggesting atheists "attack" theists with debates or go on an "offensive" to remove religion from the public sector then yes I would call that endorsement of a militant viewpoint. What do you say to an atheist who sneezes? Yourdeadthatsit! - Dane Cook |
