Perahaps a key problem would be that it was smaller. The architectural design for a large pyramid would not neccesarily function for a smaller one.
The point being is that the Japanese doesn’t have the advanced knowledge to build a large pyramid or a smaller one.

Great Pyramid
The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is the largest of the original Seven Wonders of the World that is basically stilled in tact. This pyramid is an architectural feat that cannot be duplicated with our modern technology and advanced knowledge. Many, including the Japanese, have tried to build a smaller pyramid to scale, but have not been successful.

This structure has been a mystery and an enigma to mankind for ages. The 5th century (B.C.) Greek historian Herodotus spoke of the Great Pyramid in his writings and put forth his theory of how it was built. He thought 100,000 men over a period of 20 years constructed the pyramid. Many books have been written most within the last 120 years, about the pyramid.

Peter Lemesurier states the following about historians in his book The Great Pyramid Decoded. "The sober truth is, of course, that no historian has yet advanced an explanation of the Great Pyramid’s construction that is convincing (p. 6)." Now the Great Pyramid is not the only pyramid in Egypt. There are many in Egypt and elsewhere in the whole world such as in South America and Mexico.

All this proves is that the Japanese didn't build the pyramids. I think we already knew that.

Yes, I know that, it’s all good and fun...
What about the pyramid underwater in Japan?

Scientists Say Underwater Japanese Pyramid Definitely Manmade
Quote:
Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country
According to the report, Japanese scientists have documented marks on the stones that indicate that they were hewn. Not only that, the tools used in this process have been found in the area, and carvings have been discovered. A small stairway carved into the rocks appears to render the theory that this is a natural formation implausible.

The problem with all of this for western scientists is that it implies that an unknown eastern culture had developed a high degree of organization thousands of years before the earliest western civilizations. Geologically, the Yonaguni pyramid sank into the ocean at the end of the last ice age, around ten thousand years ago. Some western geologists have theorized that, if it is manmade, it must have risen from the sea in more recent times, and been carved then.

Who Built the Pyramids?
Quote:
NOVA Online/Pyramids/Who Built the Pyramids?
The question of who built the pyramids, and how, has long been debated by Egyptologists and historians. Standing at the base of the pyramids at Giza it is hard to believe that any of these enormous monuments could have been built in one pharaoh's lifetime. Herodotus, the Greek historian who wrote in the 5th century B.C., 500 years before Christ, is the earliest known chronicler and historian of the Egyptian Pyramid Age. By his accounts, the labor force that built Khufu totalled more than 100,000 people. But Herodotus visited the pyramids 2,700 years after they were built and his impressive figure was an educated guess, based on hearsay. Modern Egyptologists believe the real number is closer to 20,000.

After all the people and time spent on this, it's disappointing the estimate isn't more accurate.

Well, it's true the great pyramids already been proved to be built by a highly advanced African civilization.

The disappointment will be the next question about the pyramids.

How Old Are The Pyramids?

The precise age of the pyramids of Giza has long been debated because, until now, there has been little evidence to prove when the pyramids were built. The history books generally point to 3200 B.C. as the approximate date when the pyramid of Khufu was under construction. But how exactly do Egyptologists date the pyramids?
