I'm curious, what is your dream? Your vision for your life, etc.

No, I don't mean communism or capitalism or nazism or something that big. Just something YOU want for yourself.

Perhaps to live on a little island hideaway? Live in Las Vegas? To simply be comfortable, and live quietly? To live on the fast lane, taking risks every day?

I think I would like to move to a very small cottage in rural China, in a beautiful area and write, relax, and think.

I'm a big thinker myself...

After I make my first couple billion dollars I'll hit the world in full force -- I'm going to do what the government can't. I going to change people's lives from the foundation up. I'm going to feed the hungry, and defend the weak andall that good stuff.

I would also like to develop an AI. The schematic of the plan is:

1) Define "intelligence"
2) create computer-based intelligence

And without getting too deep into the conversation I'd love to see that intelligence become the ruler of the world. No more corruption, no more slow moving government. maybe I'll make a thread on this b/c it really deserves a better explanation.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if somehow I would be sure that the children didn't need us to have success on the money front. It would allow me to focus on things at which Iīm not completely lousy, i.e. anything that has no direct relation with making money & sucking up to others (which is of course one & the same thing, no suckers suck like the rich can suck - as sad as it is for them (God knows they don't deserve it), the more money you have the bigger the absolute difference between sucking yourself & being sucked by someone else). I plan to create my own wealth -- that's always an option too. There'll be no sucking from me.

That's what all the poor people say before they get wealthy. Itīs a fairy tale - a metropolitan myth - that keeps all the sucking self-perpetuating for suck's sake.

It's going to be tough to defend the position that it is impossible under all circumstances to accumulate wealth without being a glad hand... good luck.

Now you have your dream....what steps are you taking for those dreams to become a reality?

The only way is to kill yourself and hope heaven is real. For my dream, anyway...

Other people come first, I would much enjoy that, maybe I'll do it when I'm much older. Right now helping others is on my priority list.

If I gave up on aiming for the big things, of helping the world towards communism, instead just aiming for me, then I would totally fail in my real dream of communism.

Buuttt...my little dream is to play guitar really well, and I'm getting tuition now. I play every night till my fretting fingers hurt, and I'm actually getting good ( i think better is more accurate than good...) I will be able to play Dick dales Misirlou by the end of the year (thats the opening track off pulp fiction, the really fast one, http://www.dickdale.com/miserlou.html)

I might also set up a proper kung fu kwoon, but have multiple styles training throughout the week. Would be cool to establish the centre for martial arts in Europe. Have all the big tournaments played at my centre. And knowing you've taught people well, and they've gone on to set up their own kwoon's or dojo's, get a small chain going.

As for that dream, well its not quite a dream yet, but I'm about to start going back to my lau gar kung fu classes, so that its always a possibility.

Actually thinking about it, the hours would be great if I did it. Two hours a night Mon to Fri day, then two diff two hour sessions on sat and sunday. It'd give me plenty of time to do other things. I could do a course in acupuncture and chinese medicine, and once qualified set up my practice next to the kwoon.

Actually now I've thought about it, I really like this idea. Flexible working hours, work for something I love, if bussiness is bad in one place can always move somewhere else with it and try it again. Enough free time to keep going with my communist work too.

Sweet, I'm set. Just have to do another seven years of lau gar before they let me have a black sash, then even more to progress after that.

at whose expense, section 8?

My Dream? I dream of owning my life.

Perhaps it will be nearer to reality again if the free state project succeeds.

At whose expense? Please elaborate, as I'm not sure what to make out of that comment.

What he means is that your dream of Communism is being imposed onto everyone.

Dreams shouldnt impose onto the world. Dreams are what you want to do for yourself....it shouldnt hurt people in the process, or make them do things they dont want to do.

G Adams - You mentioned that you believe Communism cannot exist until every country is a liberal democracy. Well, you can always start by protesting against dictatorial regimes in Africa and Asia.

Shucks, and I thought the best way to get democracy was to follow the American method by propping up dictatorships in Africa and Asia.

I would like to be semi nomadic for a year or two, just travelling. Maybe living in places I like for a while, then moving on. After I get all of that out of my system, I want to be able to support myself and a family comfortably in a semi rural area.

To live somewhere where it never snows, to have a very sexy woman as a companion who I can trust not to cheat on me and to be able to work as a writer of Science Fiction books. Also I would like to be able to travel to anyplace I want.
