Sounds like somebody's struggling Life's short and brutal and that's what makes it real!! Religion is what happened when people got scared of reality, depression is what happens when people accept this reality , and happiness is what happens when people realise that the shortness of life is what makes it so beautiful. Life is not an illusion because the illusion is made up by you..Cheer up :)

yes a magic mushroom trip gives you a vission of the world like you will never see it.
its ok for DR's to give you stuff, but this is like nothing else.
some have good trips some have bad trips, thats why there is so much talk of demons in the bible, its bad trips.
if you really want to know what its like to enter an other world partake of the flesh of the mushroom, Jesus saves!
it gives you a new way of seeing, you dont have to do it more than once, but if you dont partake of the flesh you wont know what i am talking about.
thats why the only way is with Jesus, it's phisicly true.

yet what we eat makes a lot of diffrence to how we see things.
some things we eat are good for our body other things are good for our minds.

it sounds funny, and well, theirs nothing wrong with that, as it is funny saying Jesus was a mushroom, but history lost has made it even more funny when you compair it to the sad somber Jesus of modern times

are we chatting about anything in particular here or just promoting hallucinogens? The only relevance I spot is with the trip as a metaphor for avoiding the reality and turning to religion. If thats not the case, whats with the shroom talk?

A mushroom trip is a real experience, regardless of the irreal content of the hallucinations of whatever sense or synaesthesia...... very different from a "religion". Although it IS a sacrament for certain religious sensibilities, as a way of 'eating God' it is pretty unmediated/unsymbolic (much less faith-based than the Eucharist). A lot of people (perhaps those with no actual soul) seem to be able to take these drugs for entertainment, but for myself a mushroom trip is about the opposite of 'avoiding reality'. It seems more like an accelerated confrontation with reality.

There's a not-entirely-bogus idea (which I don't have any links for unfortunately) that the absurd and incongruous Santa mythology is a code for 'Jesus is a mushroom', in this way: the psychedelic mushroom Amanita Muscaria is bright red with white dots, usually grows under the sorts of trees people display in their homes, and is often eaten by reindeer for whom it can offer somewhat better night vision and some warmth.

Now, mushrooms are likely to lead to 'reality is just an illusion' partly because the experience often refocuses attention on the actual formal shaping of ideas by the language used to express them (whether spoken or thought) and emphasizes that the way one experiences the world ("reality") is in fact an aesthetic implication of a highly distorted perceptual filter (whether of physical or mental sense); partly because mushrooms lend themselves very well to hyperbole, as minute impressions and experiences often seem indicative of entire Universe(s) of truth.

To whoever is asserting that here, that "reality is just an illusion" idea, may I ask what the hell this word 'just' that I keep seeing means, and whether the sentence means anything anymore if that word is dropped???

about the mushrooms; go and look on the internet for a guy named starjade, doomsday prophet and he'll tell you all about it..

about the topic; i recently heard of the last tuesday theory..
(something we've all been wondering about, but is put into words by the following story)

last tuesday, the world was created, all our nerval systems, which included compatible pasts, stellar systems, traces of the past in any form, anything as we knew it that tuesday...
next tuesday, the world will end..

(it so happens, that next tuesday i have a big exam..)
