| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Why should we prove anything? If this is all in our minds, then we have serious issues with our own minds, and need clinical help, because we are debating with ourselves! Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

And I can name a couple of phantasms on this board that fit that description quite well. And no, I won't name them. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. | |

So if it was my fantasy I wouldn't be here. I'm replying so I must be here and thusly can't be my fantasy. ![]() Devil's Advocate Location: Alberta Posts: 136 | You saying that Volconvo exists only in MY mind then I feel sorry for all of you that have to share space with the thoughts that go though my head. If I know someone else in real life that also is on Volconvo that would mean It couldn't exist just in my mind. But then again everything could just be a figment of my imagination. Or would it technically be a collective imagination. And then wouldn't we commit partial self-suicide. The ramifications of that idea.... Jern_Sandyer is the local Devil's Advocate Number 1 I doubt my sanity; yet again I doubt yours as well |

| Hot Lava Location: Beijing Posts: 2,340 | Sure you can. You just have to adjust your qualifications for what it means to "exist." Have numbers always existed? Did we discover them inscribed on a rock by God? No, they're a figment of human imagination. But they explain facets of reality that cannot otherwise be explained. Therefore, we made them exist through our imagination, and the people who use them accept the fact that they have to agree they exist in order to develop more complex theories based on them. | Igneous Magma Posts: 332 | Why bother when all the evidence appears to indicate that we are, in actuality, sensing something very similar to reality? The burden of proof for this statement clearly lies with fushigi, being that he's the one who's contradicting the given evidence. |
