...what would it be?

Seriously....

Now mine would be along the lines of this...

There is one God. God commands us to love and respect one another. War is evil and should be avoided. Don't steal, lie, commit adultry or kill. All people are equil in the sight of God. We will all be judged according to our deeds. Our reward in heaven depends on what we did on earth. There is no real damnation but really bad people won't get as many goodies as those who are good.

Any thoughts?

Buddhism. They definently got it right. No killing, stealing, etc. and no belief in God. You're your own God, there is no higher power. End attachment over material possessions. Use meditation to become one with yourself.

FA, what about Buddhism, although I don't think you would be a very good match. You love Okham's razor to much.

Well anything that needs too much explaining is usually bullshit, I'll probably agree with you on that.

So are you saying that if something is complicated (Buddhism) and requires an indepth path in order to achieve nirvana. Are you saying that something simple (Christianity) and judges you only by your beliefs is more logical. Good things take time and are more complicated.

Being good is pretty simple actually, you don't have to understand much if you don't lie, cheat, steal, slander or covet.
Also take responsibility for your own actions no matter what will happen, there is nothing complicated about any of the above, you just have to be willing to do it.

christianity is fine...

if its followed correctly.

you dont need to take every word and memorize and follow it to the letter. its more about principles that straight up laws. the biggest principle being love. everything you do should be out of love... you would never steal if you loved everyone because it would hurt the person you stole from. you could never kill someone you loved. you couldnt be greedy because you would always wanting to help ones you love. etc. etc.

Section 8: i read your posts and noticed your sig and it seems like buddhism ideals would work well for you, some people need a higher structure to conform to [ by higher i'm saying an external driving force] cause some people don't have enough power within themselves ( at least they do not think they do ).

I personally would have a cross between many religions and ways of thinking, beacuse thats how reality is.. its just not one way. Even if you think you can use one example to determine everything, you just cannot. I'm in the continuous persuit to discover which is most fulfilling, and I have so far found that being open to all religions, forming my own disposition is the best way to go, and that works best for me.

If I would make the ideal reality or community that believes in what I do, I think I would have it exist similarly to how the world [and universe] actually is, varying greatly. Apparently being chaotic, but at the same time be connected at so many levels that its ridiculous. I could see why God would do this ;D

Each must find his own path and allow others to find theirs in peace. The only thing to be asked of others is that they do not impede your personal pursuit. Each person's religion is understandable by that individual alone, and irrelevant as long as he only uses it to affect his own choices. If another starts to make your decisions for you based on his religion, conflict is inevitable.

Brutal killing and raping impedes the path of another does it not? Do you not know me well enough yet to figure out that pacifist is not one of my attributes??

I don't know GWR, your theory on Your religon doesnt seem to have anything brutal to test it, keeping faith with what you believe in under duress even your own life, or familys being taken because of it is the true test of what you believe in, otherwise if you fail that test your faith becomes redundent.

I was refering to being given a choice of keeping your religon and dying, or giving lipservice to another and surviving
This is taking place in quite a few parts of Indonesia, the largest Muslim nation in the world at the moment..
