ARE women who give sex for marriage or relatonhp prostitutes. I mean a prostiute is a women who puts a price on sex so if the price for sex is a relationship or marriage are they just like the whore at the parlour with a price for sex

i mean even if she want have sex till love is involved this is still a price she sets on having sex so is she nothing but a prosttute
perhaps put another way with the post about sluts in mind
is the slut more moral than the good girl because she just has sex promiscuously where the good charges for it

There is a big difference between being born into a serious relationship and being born a bastard, especially with uncertain father. I suspect the morality surrounding sex developed from parents wanting their daughters to avoid hardships of raising bastards with no support. I also suspect lineage was more important in smaller clan-based societies. Morality against prostitution probably develops along similar lines.

My wife will tell you that she's not above 'putting some extra effort' into our sex lives if she's buttering me up for something (so to speak) ... like some jewlery, a new vehicle, a girl's weekend w/ her friends ... whatever ...

If a girl needs 20 bucks and is willing to have sex with a stranger for it, she is a slut. If a woman in a relationship who knows her partner values sex does it with the expectation that the same 'courtesy' (... sacrifice ... call it what you will) would be extended to them pertaining to something SHE values (money, gifts, chores ... whatever) ... it is a 'fair exchange of energy' ... as my wife would say.

I don't call that prostitution, slutty, or whorish ... i call it shrewd

you have to usually get her in the mood.
that's one price.
then you have to satisfy her,which turns to another price.

Pam - I agree with my wife's viewpoint that we should always seek a 'fair exchange of energy' as defined by the 2 parties in whatever transaction. To me that means you don't show up to a party without a gift ... but it's not like your getting a gift JUST to go to the party ... It's a gesture that is meant to bring happiness to the other party at some inconvenience or expense to you that you are happy to provide. By your strictest definition of prostitution, then every woman on earth who has had sex has prostituted herself, including female posters on this board.

By the same token, men who change diapers, do chores, buy flowers, whatever to make their wives happier aren't buying their wive's good graces as much as they are expressing their love by giving of themselves and some sacrifice.

BTW - my wife would be tremendously offended at the suggestion that 'pleasing me' is in some way prostitution because she knows that I am happy to return any favors in search of that 'fair exchange of energy' ... It is just a fluke of the English language and the connotation of the word 'prostitution' that the 'equal exchange of energy for sex' is considered just that.
