| mostly harmless Location: USA Posts: 1,284 | It is presumptuous to claim that every woman in a sexual relationship is only offering sex as a commodity. Other reasons can be pleasure or expressions of love or recreation or mutual desire for children. But even when sex is used as a commodity within a serious relationship, there is a moral difference over the commodity used indiscriminately. If legitimate children fared the same as illegitimate children, then there would be no basis for the moral difference. |

![]() Igneous Magma Location: Massachusetts, USA Posts: 433 | You can call my wife what you like, I said she feels it is appropriate in all encounters with people, including sometimes sexual favors with me, to seek 'an equal exchange of energy' ... the definition of prostitution you are so strictly bound to is not an 'exchange' of anything, but a 'charge' ... why don't you bust out your 'English to whatever-native-language-you-use' dictionary and see the difference between 'exchange' and 'charge' and liken it to Bill Clinton's definition of the word 'is' if you like, but to me, that is not prostitution ... and at the end of the day, if and when push comes to shove, my wife would not mind putting your definition up against hers 'mano a mano' so to speak .... (look it up, unless it's your native toungue already) |

![]() Mass'Debator Posts: 4,730 | I think the big issue here is the seperation between men and women and who's the real slut. Both sexes want sex..... women want it just as much as men, they just don't talk about it as much or were oppressed at a young age about sex. It all depends on how you look at it. In my view, nobody is a slut... whether you never slept with anyone, slept with only one person, or had a gangbang every night, each person's life is different and the things those people like varies from individual. I know people who are faithful to one person and has sex regularly, and I don't see them as a slut. I also known some people who liked to stay out of a relationship and just go out for the sex (one night stands, so to speak) but I don't call them a slut..... that's their preference. They are still good people to talk and hang out with, they don't try and infringe on anybody else's lifestyles..... all in all, they're good people..... it's just some have different fetises, wants, desires, or none at all. The closest I can label someone as a slut, once again, is if they use sex to get what they want, rather then personal pleasure.... ie: all those booty women who hang out with the rappers, with the fancy cars and the bling bling...... catch my drift? |

| Human Posts: 679 | Yeah, I expect that's how humans evolved. Sex is not that valuable to women because they can only benefit from it once every 8 months or so, and pregnancy is very expensive. Sex is more valuable to guys because it's cheap and they gain unlimited benefit from having sex with additional women. So it makes sense for women to charge for sex in exchange for goods, to equalize the exchange. Men also value female monogomy, because it ensures that the kid is theirs. Men will give some goods in exchange for female sex, and many more goods in exchange for female monogomy. We call the later case "marriage". |

If a woman holds out until she is married for the sake of security in life, then yeah..... slutty, I suppose. Then again, if they are holding out just as their own choice, or by religious standards, then I don't think it would apply as being a slut/prostitution. A slut is basically kinda too hard to pin on one type of person or life-style, which is why I don't bother to label anybody it. Correction: the only time I would call a girl a slut is if they cheated on me.... esspecially if I didn't know about it  ![]() | |
