We are not alone in our invention making, just the scope, and we were successful long before the blender. It was our adaptability that did it for us. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.” -Albert Einstein |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 4,375 | phoenix fire, The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. pam669, If you want to be truly philosophical regarding the nature of the tree, consider this. By consuming the fruit of the tree, mankind gained knowledge of how to create life. In doing so, he acquired the drive to preserve that life as well. Man became mortal. Every technological advance in human history comes from the drive to preserve life. Whether it's the atomic bomb or the computer, every single intellectual accomplishment has served to enhance human survival. Collectively, humans are hardly "dumb ass." Unfortunately, some selections from humankind inspire more of those sentiments than others. There are also those who represent the true exceptions to your vague and misguided comment. I would challenge you to better clarify what you mean by "dumb ass." I apologize for sounding derogatory, but your use of adolescent slang hardly defines a position on the quality of humankind. |

Please do not take offense to this question... I'm genuinely curious: Is English your first language? If not, what is... and are you using an online translator to make your posts? | |

Michigan Posts: 2,163 | Well I'm just as curious why pam finds it OK to fill the site with many similar threads, all of which contain very poor grammar and mistakes that are easily correctable. Seems like a matter of effort, unless Zhavric is on to something. | Possibly edible? Posts: 783 | Okay, now you're just trolling To me, the root cause of all the issues you bring up is the unequal division of finite resources we find here on earth we see in all cultures. If there was no need for exceptional amounts of oil, if there was no need to get rid of competition, these things would have never come about. I see the bad of technology, but I feel the good is too great to do away with the risk. You're ignoring the numerous examples of people getting to live who would have died otherwise. ...and nature? It's more violent and cruel and short than anything found in modern culture. At any moment, you're entire clan could wiped out painfully by disease, or mauled in the night by an elephant. I say the more we move away from nature and the farther away we get from these natural laws that some people believe necessitate this warlike behavior, the better. Side effects may include gastrointestinal homicide, theft of luck, apocalyptic hallucinations, and demonic possession. Please do not soak in milk as doing so will result in death. |
