I think the poem is about the regrets of aging...

I saw nothing about feminism being the tool of capitalism. More like that a feminist drives away manly lovers and when she's old, she's alone...

This sentence makes no sense, and as far as I can determine, "apothegem" is not a word.

It's a section of the poem she wants us to talk about. Here:
Quote:
APOTHEGM
Feminism you fool
Nothing but capitalisms tool
Get um out to work
Out of the home
Baby off the tit
Kids in a crèche
We can’t have the economic system crash
Turn um into men power suits short hair
Offer them power money all men’s lair
Feed um up on feminism
Give um ideology you fool
Then the system will power capitalisms tool
Teach the girls early that men are bastards true
Teach the girls early that money power is their due
Turn them against men compete love their ruin true
They will have it true every thing the lot except a lovers woo
Give um ideology you fool
Then the system will power capitalisms tool
I quoted the section so you don't have to load a 24-page .pdf document.

But that's not what the poem's really about.

Anyhow I think I am done with this thread. Pam doesn't seem like the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree...

We're supposed to debate the writing of a poet as if he were making profound statements about society? I still say E. E. Cummings did it better and earlier. And his cut&paste poetry was fairly nonsensical as a result, too.

You have failed to make reading them an appealing possibility.

I can't help but think of a freind coming up to me and saying, "I think I stepped in some dog poop. Would you smell the bottom of my shoe and tell me if I did?" No matter how much I liked him, chances are I'd pass up that opportunity.

Where are you getting this from? Have a news article, or a source for that claim?

Side effects may include gastrointestinal homicide, theft of luck, apocalyptic hallucinations, and demonic possession. Please do not soak in milk as doing so will result in death.

why does it matter if feminists hate this poem or not? what's the point?

Sin is salvation. Without "sin" there wouldn't be a concept for "purity" and without a concept of "purity" one wouldn't be able to enter "heaven."

Of course feminists would hate it. It basicly tells them that only men should try to get good jobs and that they are being manipulated to think that they would want the same thing.
