What color is God?

Apparently, Man (i.e. Adam) was made in the image of God. I'm paraphrasing Genesis. Adam, being human, must have had some identifiable racial features--features he only could have derived from God. What were those features? Was Adam Black, Caucasian, Oriental, Middle Eastern, Indian?

If the fossil record is an indication, the first humans came out of Africa. If that's the case, Adam, and therefore God, must be black. If not, what color is God? I suspect He (and He is a "he" because Adam was made in God's image and Adam was male) does not have the racial features attributed to him by Michaelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Of the human races, Caucasians are late comer to the human family.

So, what color is God?

Regards
S.

Everything is in the image of God, just humans are the most like him since we are persons and everything else we know of isn't. But since God became man and had a dual nature, his human nature was Jewish, whatever race that was 2000 years ago.

2,000 years ago? There were humans much longer than 2,000 years ago. Gilgamesh, an epic Babylonian poem, was written almost 5,000 years ago. That's the first literary work we have evidence of, so humans certainly pre-date even that.

There were no Jewish people 5,000 as this predates the covenant between God and Abraham by at least 3,000 years, and humans predate Abraham, Adam in particular.

I don't think God is Jewish. There were no Jews when Adam was created.

S.

You really misunderstood what I was saying. God isn't a color or race because he has all the races as a perfection in him. Or in other words everything you see is perfected in God so He isn't one individual color he's all the colors.

Secondly, I believe there is a tri-person God and Jesus was one of those persons and He became man. So God has a dual nature. Jesus was a Jew. So if you just had to choose one race for whatever reason(even though he is everything), God is a Jew.

Ok, I don't mean to be rude, I do understand what you are saying, but when I read this, for whatever reason, I pictured God all mulitcoloured like a calico cat

Think of it this way, if God created us, then he must have that idea within him first. So since he has all ideas within him he can create anything.

Another example, you can teach someone to read because you know how to read. But you could not teach someone to read if you couldn't read.

What I'm saying is there are black people, white people, Mexican people, Asian people in this world. God had to have those perfections within him(ideas in a sense) before they could possibly exist in this world since God created the world.

So you're a polytheist (Yes, I'm one of those people who think that trinitarians are polytheists who don't want to admit it.)?

Many Christians I've spoken with on this topic maintain the "the image of god" does not refer to physical characteristics, but rather to the "spirit". A convenient dodge in my book, but then...

and he says Jesus talks to him. Does that mean he's talking to himself?

That depends on which definition of omnipotent you go by. I've heard at least two from theists.

1) Omnipotence==absolutely all powerful. That opens up the can of worms about whether there is freewill.

2) Omnipotence==all powerful but bound by that which is logically possible. That blows the three in one thing away.

Well, the Bible says that man and woman were both made in the image of God. If we were going on physical characteristics...well, don't think too hard on it.

But seriously. I think physical attributions are an oversimplification. God is way beyond the corporeal.

Thats why its a mystery, three but one... wtf? You can not understand it so don't try and reduce it to a polytheism.

Well, obviously, that'd be silly, how could an intangible force that supposedly resides in each one of us have a physical image, its not a dodge, that was developed before people stopped being burned for critisizing the theology.

God is invisible...that's why people think He doesn't exist.

If you want to know what the first humans looked like, think biscuits.

If they are white, they are still raw.

If they are black, they are burnt.

What you are looking for is a golden brown.

Are you serious? God has no color, he is invisible. Adam was made in God's image in the sense that God can love, and so can we. God is perfect, and we were too originally. God has qualities that we have, not physical appearance.

Also, God is not impartial, so He doesn't favor one race over the other.
