The Bible doesn't ask anyone to blindly follow. It says to seek out the truth, search for the answers, PROVE the scriptures. It is leaders (whether religious or government) that want their subjects to follow blindly. God approves those who wrestle with Him and resist Him...that doesn't bother Him. Quote:

If God is what we expect then we do not grow, we don't learn... all necessary requirements for love, and life. The same is true of all relationships worth anything. |

That or he could be like the god from Southpark that doesn't even look human. Or maybe he's a she and she's Alanis Morisette, like in Dogma, the greatest movie of all time. | Volcanic Erupter Posts: 4,375 | After thinking about this, this thread poses one of the big arguments against Creationism. If Adam was white, then he had to have been created somewhere northerly. Otherwise, God was basically plopping him down in sunburn central. I wonder how many Creationists are closet racists, uncomfortable with the thought that Adam and Eve were, if anything, black. |

| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 3 | Why are we so curious about God's color? Humans have different color: black, white, rousse, brunette, yellow and many others. we cannot based on the fact that they sid that adam was white to say that right away God is white. After they discover that ther were men of different colors, so now we are supposed to think that God is black, yellow or roux? |

| Crazy Poet Location: In a different world Posts: 43 | Why is it that everything has to be related to the physical state? It is not possible that when they say 'man was created in the image of God' that it was in fact in a spiritual sense? This question reminds me of the other variant of asking what gender God is... I was under the impression that God was a spirit that could take any physical form at any time. I realize that we are primarily focused on the physical world each day, but that doesn't mean that by ignoring the spiritual aspect that it will simply not exists. (for any wondering, no I didn't read every post up to this point so I may be repeating what others have already pointed out) |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 261 | I've noticed that in many movies where a God or God-like being is shown, the deity always seems to take the form of a black person. Obviously there is nothing wrong with this because there isn't any reason to have a white (or any other race) more then other options. a deity is just as likely to look any other way. still, it feels like a PC move to me. If the God or God-like being was portrayed as a white person, naturally many people would be offended and assume that it was done by a white supremest, who probably believes that white people are superior or inheritly closer to being God-like. Is it discrimination or over sensitivity? Are people so defensive that to have such a role applied to a Caucasians is an immediate sign of racial discrimination? The main movie that I am talking about is "Bruce Almighty." Another movie I saw that actually took it to the next level and had the God-like being played by a woman who was black (played by Oprah Winfrey). Again there is nothing wrong with this, I just thought it was interesting how they thought to soothe not only racial/ethnic minorities but also managed to appease feminists who might claim a male God to be chauvinistic. This second movie was a Muppet's Christmas special (I do not remember the exact name. Beware of Logical Fallacies.
