This is a very interesting thread. Bugs makes several good points. Death is often avoided as a topic. Most people do not like to think about it. It is an important topic considering it is one thing that we all will have in common.

I am a Christian and will spend eternity in heaven. It is not what I deserve, but it is what God promised to believers. Personally, I am looking forward to when God calls me. It doesn’t make sense to dread going to such a wonderful place.

My preference is, as well, to “die well.” I have seen several people struggle for years with debilitating illnesses. I hope that is not in my future.

In response to Pooey, we are responsible for leading this generation to Christ. If believers were taken as soon as they were saved then who would be left to lead others to Christ. It is my hope that Pooey and others gain faith before they learn the truth the hard way.

i have been privy to spiritual events and i hold god and spirituality quite highly in my life, but i am not a conventional christian.

I myself follow no church other than my own beliefes and values, so I have little fear of "burning" anywhere. Death will come to us all, either today or 30 more years from now, so show the world your best face whenever possible, and remember that the last thing you say to someone, really could be your last memory with them.
