Question for Christians

Do you guys believe that non-Christians will go to hell? If not, where will they go?

Thanks.

Jesus Said most people are going to hell and he seemed to be ok with that.

Quote:
Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I think that "hell" is ill defined.

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. -- Song 8:6

So pretty much this is saying that Christians are the only ones that go to heaven?

Of course they all goto hell..... that's how you keep followers, by fear. Believe and follow what we say or rot in hell for eternity. Seems like an easy choice when you make it like that.

Ah, so me actually having 20+ years of Roman Catholic background is irrelevent?

You asked, and I gave you the answer in a nut shell from a Roman Catholic point of view. I could have made it all bubbily and pretty, but that's basically how it works. Those who do not follow or believe in Jesus or God, goto Hell as sinners.

Sry, the way you put it I thought you were just an atheist giving a random answer.

Anyways, I'm a Muslim, do I go to hell by Christian standards?

Dr. Debate, thanks for posing the question because it exposes the nature of the god whom Christians believe exists and worship. One who would condemn the majority of the world's people to damnation for no other reason than they do not worship him. Indeed, what kind of god is it that needs to be worshipped? Surely only one not worthy of worship.

Regards
S.

When I was a Protestant, I would have said "yes". Accepting Jesus as lord and savior was vital to salvation. Unless you accepted the godliness of Jesus, you'd have been considered a heathen.

We will see on The Judjement Day.However clearly non-Christians have close to nil a chance for salvation. As well as most Christians as well. Salvation is for very few it is extremly hard to deserve it.

Exactly.

There is no doubt about certain categories of people that will go to hell 100%.
Such as:

Atheists, murderers, jews, muslims, witches, pagans, buddihsts, homosexuals, etc. etc...

Realistically there are about 2 million Orthodox Christians In America. So really only people out of these 2 million have a chance to salvation and not even the majority of them will be saved.

As to the rest, the news are bad...

According to the Bible, the only way to attain heaven is through Jesus Christ, who suffered upon the cross to attain forgiveness of sin for all who accept him as their personal Lord and savior.

A lack of believe in Jesus as the son of God, born of man for the purpose of purchasing God’s grace condemns one to hell.

The reasons you are not a Christian is the fear of responcibility for your sins.

oh ho! No, I'm not a Christian because I don't subscribe to a religion that even if I follow I won't be getting into heaven. I've tried to be a Christian, oh how I tried, but in the end I found it wasn't the religion for me, and zealots, I also found lots of zealots.
See I tried your religion and it didn't work, for me.

Also all this talk of everyone else going to hell, what happens when you die and you see a big angry Buddha? What then, I'll tell you what, next life you get to be a dung beetle.

I don't want to be a part of religion that is all fire and brimstone.
You want to be a Christian, go ahead, more power to you. I wish I had faith that unwavering, but thats not me because even when I went to Church everyday it was in the back of my head, "you don't believe all this"
and I don't, thus why I'm not a Christian.
Personally I went agnostic, because that made the most sense to me, I believe there is a God, but I'm not one to say what it is, and if I goto Christian hell for that, well I was probably going to go to hell even if I was a Christian, so I went with what felt right.

Well, let's see who is better at shirking responsibility for their own behavior... the Christian whose every action is dictated by either the will and plan of god or influenced by the devil, or the non-believer who has no one else to blame for their own actions and must take full responsibility for them?

Religion is a cop-out that allows a person to blame or credit other influences for what are clearly their own shortcomings or abilities. If we truly "feared responsibility for our sins", wouldn't you expect us to be flocking to the churches in droves for that famous forgiveness the Christians preach (but less often practice)?
