Oh, yes, Christians have had their day at this religious madness but that day is over, gone. Now democratic principles and not religious dogma leads most all nations in the West which is not to say religious groups do not have powerful sway, e.g. the Zionists and Evangelical Christians, but they are still under the checks and balances of a democratic government. They could never come out as Zionist religionists and get away with it in American government as Muslims can do in countries where Islam is the dominant religion. Secular democracy will eventually topple Muhammad's type of Islam. It's only a matter of time before the inherent anti-democratic totalitarianism of Muhammad's teachings are recognized as such by Muslim intellectuals, a process now started by Muslim women with the most to gain from democratic equality. | |

| Devil's Advocate Location: A True Nomad Posts: 280 | I repeat, this does not apply JUST to Islam. You yourself just admitted that christianity had a bloody past too, what makes you think that islam is worse? If secular democracy as you call it will topple Muhammed;s type of Islam, then why is Jesus's type of christianity any better? Why pick Islam out from an equally rotten bunch and make it look even worse? |

| BANNED Posts: 701 | I'm not picking on Muhammad's Islam any more than I do the rest of the bunch I'm an equal opportunity critic of all the traditional Abrahamic religions. Look at the End Times section of my Biomystical Christianity book online. They've all got to be drastically overhauled to be able to deal effectively (ethically) with our new millennium social conditions. Haven't you all noticed that the closer Abrahamic believers follow their religious texts the scarier they become? And conversely, the more liberal or metaphorically believers follow their religious texts the nicer they become to their neighbors? What's that tell us? Moral authority is slipping away from the traditional religions and is favoring secular democracy because democracy and not theocracy protects freedom best and God wants us to be free of men's territorial control agendas so our commitment is pure and selflessly given. |

You will forgive the connotation, but the best adjective I can find for the above post is "wishy-washy". Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. -- Song 8:6 |
