Oh really? Seems like overriding your instincts does more good then bad. After all, murderers and rapists act on animal instincts. They are the normal ones.
The catagorical imperitive "Animal instincts" is a human construction, based on projections on to animals.

That's your opinion, by the way, I'm not an agnostic.

Did someone else post it? Of course it was my opinion. I think that in the process of answering some of the "bigger" questions, some of us start to question dogmas, and others worship them. But, for those who reject them, often times they look to replace it with some other "Truth". I think these people are metaphysicians at the very least, and if they are willing to challenge one dogma, they may eventually come to challenge them all.

I was wondering why you assumed I was an agnostic, I used the words I delieve, which would indicate that I'm not an agnostic. By the way, why am I not spiritual?

The atheist gains knowledge and perhaps a more fulfilling life. Additionally, who says atheists cannot find truth?

Personally, i cant even comprehend or imagine a god that would favor a Christian who is a Christian for the wrong and selfish reasons over a very curious teenager who remains a good person.

I don't think He does.

It means animals are just doing their thing, and anything you think they are doing like "being animalistic" or even projecting emotions like "oh, she (the animal) is jealous that you're playing with the other dog". Or anything really that you can say about an animal is just projection. Projection meaning you're giving those qualities to the animal, they aren't necissarily there (or knowable).
So calling something "Animal instincts" is picking and chosing some percievable qualities of an animal and distorting them by putting them in a human context. Animal intincts include violence, sex, and hunger. While animals do eat, fuck, and kill the denotation (the real meaning) of their actions is not on par with the implications of doing those things for human beings. Its just that we call our less sophisticated traits animal traits so that it seems like we've got something else going on.
I just don't like that phrase.
