| Molten Ash Location: Cognitive Dissonance Posts: 60 | "there is no justifaction for taking innocent life". was a quote i heard on the radio today by someone in the bush administration. if that is the case, why do we always make excuses and NOT care when non americans are killed? thousands of innocent iraqis who hated sadaam hussein, that didnt do anything have been killed by american forces. yes its graphic and brutal to see that american hostage beheaded, but what is differnce between 1 man being beheaded, and 10 people being blown to pieces, incenerated pulverized by a "smart bomb" that hits there building? the excuse thats always made is, "we dont target civilians". what if terrorist made excuses like that. "we dont target civlilans, but found this guy on the street and he was good enough" i also hear, "well people die in war". then when an american dies, its always tragedy. [which it is] however, there is never any concern amongst the general population when non americans die, especially if they are an innocent civlian killed by americans. you may get a statment here or there saying how bad/sad it is. but there is never any outrage. there was a talk radio show host, [gene burns www.kgoam810.com] that said he did not care about the iraqi innocents that had died and most americans wouldnt either. now why is a "god" beliving nation like the united states have opinions like this? no matter how callous that old geezer sounds, its unfortunate that most of the god beliving "christian" folks in the united states are teh same way. too bad people dont actually stand for and belive in what they say. <<because i f**kin said so>>™ |

Even if America had the lofty standards we wish it did, people would still die for stupid reasons. People die on the freeway with nobody shooting at them, what makes people think that innocents are safe in a war zone. They are as safe as we can make them, is the best we can do. Being innocent or ethical does not make you bulletproof, nor does being a killer and a brute make you easier to kill. |

I could be mistaken, but it's the double-standards we apply as to what is murder, what is collateral damage, what is terrorist or legitimate war action that he was speaking to. And this a big problem right now in the eyes of the world. "...with like-minded people one cannot discuss. I think when the numbers rise to these huge figures, a person loses the ability to actually grasp how fucking much killing is being done -- in a far away place, people who you cannot relate with culturally. Something in my brain twitches every time people put a different price on life, depending on if it's "one of us" or "one of the others". It's human life ffs, no matter what kind! |

| Guest Posts: n/a | The U.S. government’s war for Israel against Iraq is a crime against every American and mankind in general. That war is unconstitutional because Congress has not declared war on Iraq and declaring war on the “country” to be warred on is a constitutional responsibility of Congress, Article I, Section 8 (paragraph 11). Those people in America’s government that support the illegal war in Iraq are criminals and U.S. citizens that support those criminals are also criminals for aiding & abetting. Allan |
