Our pursuit of Salvation (is killing us)

Where does Salvation come from? It's a question asked by the religious and non-religious alike. Muslims kill for it, Christians die for it, and Jews pray for it. Buddhists will torture their bodies beyond that of Roman prisoners and yet not one of these religions has found an answer for the whole of humanity. We all agree killing is wrong, stealing is wrong, lying is wrong... We all raise our children, want them safe, and would do whatever it took to keep them that way. Yet, here we are, the four major world religions, starting wars, stealing land, lying to protect our own ideas, and indangering our children. When will it end? Why can't we all live in peace?

I (as a Jew) do not believe that G-d would want us to be doing so much damage even with His comissions and plans. Don't you think the G-d who created us would want us to live in peace despite His plans. His plan, (whatever it is) I'm sure can be put on hold or even decomissioned for the sake of the purpose of religion, peace. Peace with each other and peace within ourselves.

I feel bad as a Jew alot of times because most of the fighting is within Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. The three major world religions all steming from Judaism. It's a huge conflict between who the Messiah is basically. But, I'm certain that despite where we believe Salvation comes from (Jesus, observing mitzvot, being a good person, or self-enlightenment) we can all agree that what we are doing now isn't working and, therefore, isn't right.

What your doing is taking life way to seriously. I promise you if everyone was as mellow as me, there'd be no war, only appreciation.

Salvation came from human inquisitive mind since time immorial. Human wanted to sepculate the properties of self which makes the body live, feel, grow and move about. I am sure animals and birds never bother for salvation. Great thinkers from time to time have come out with different theories speculating about the existence of self before birth or after death. All that has been meta-physical. Different views developed into different religious faiths and beliefs.

True, no sects could come out with proper provable answer since the aspect of the problem is super-natural beyond our physical nature gifted senses. This might not be possible even in future due to existence of limits of physical and meta-physical senses of understanding.

We all agree killing is wrong, stealing is wrong, lying is wrong... We all raise our children, want them safe, and would do whatever it took to keep them that way. Yet, here we are, the four major world religions, starting wars, stealing land, lying to protect our own ideas, and indangering our children. When will it end? Why can't we all live in peace?

Start of war, fight, lying and stealing etc all, also come out of self prejiduced human mind. Side by side of development of religions, the Ego of groups develped. "We are best and correct while others are useless and wrong" sort of human feeling created the whole fuss.

With the help of scientific development and resurfacing of human common sense within physical limits of this world, humanity in general and religious fanatics in particular, would desist from meta-physical or super-natural debate of happenings to self before birth or after death and concentrate in removal of physical discomforts and attainment of peace and comforts for one and all. That is possible:)

God has not made any religions, it all human mind who did all this. God if at all exists anywhere, created us with certain properties due to which we carry on our day to day activities. He has no separate plans. What you do, you have to enjoy its fruit. My old action / reaction formula!!!...Karma theory...Do good have good or As you sow so shall you reap!!!!

So, peace with each other and peace within ourselves is possible provided we (religious fanatics in particular) desist from super-natural religious faiths of self and concentrate on physical aspect of goodness all around.:(

Definitly Salvation has nothing to do with physical welfare of world community and its conflicts. As said ealier, everything is man made. Again it is upto human of present generation to teach humanity to themselves and to future generations in the form of children or offsprigs.

I would rather add, to conclude, that living a poious and helpful life for others is itself the ideal path and gateway for salvation...If at all it exists there!!!!:eek:

Salvation suggests you need to be saved. You don't. The whole world is at your feet if your prepared to use your mind to earn it. The trouble with most religions is that they are death worshippers, with little appreciation for what is good and what can be achieved here, their only concern the afterlife.

Maybe the reason "it's not working" is that all three religions are built upon false premises.
