Yes, very elementary.

What evidence do you have that the whole of the Bible was divinely inspired?
That's a question of faith, best I can answer that, past that we'll be typing forever.

I'm catholic, I was making a point to nam. It was he who made that accusation in the first place, read the argument before you respond to the last post made.
Ah, sorry about that. I'll read the whole discussion in future. :)

It's really easy. Quit trying to hard to believe in the existence of god. :)
Actually, it's EASIER to believe in a god than it is to question it. Blind faith is rather a lazy way to live when you think about it.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

Faith in Who?

The Bible never claims that its entire body is divinely inspired.

Christian Universalists believe in Jesus as something special - some believe he is the one true son of God, others believe he is a great teacher...

However, they also believe that all people will eventually be saved.

I am Unitarian Universalist, a Deist, and a believer in reincarnation.

Actually, the first six presidents of the U.S. were either deists or Unitarians.

Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein were also deists.

Then, no, I don't really fit that description.

thats a hard question to answer....i mean believe about what cause that could be taken to mean anything :)

but i guess on a spirtual level....i believe in reincarnation (might not be able to speel it though..) as i do believe that living things have a sole or spirt (for want of a better word:confused: ) i supose its like recycling...if you catch my drift?? definatly feeling the idea of karma.....

as for the whole IS THERE A GOD?, thing.....Im not sure to be honest....my mind CANT accept the idea of ONE higher being who makes rules for us to live by(unless nature is GOD??!!?? )....I think I would find the concept of multipul god's/goddess's more plausible.... ......but as I say im not sure, i dont see how there could be A GOD.....

No, a flawed human putting his own biases into a divine inspiration.
There may be some flaw to it because of the translations, but I'd have to think that even so it's pretty close to what it was originally in meaning.

I like the traditional part about them. The prayers, the songs were all said by your ancestor's and they believed it. We live in a very convenient world today, or I should say those of us that have all the modern conveniences, so it stands to reason we would question the faith a lot more. We don't have the hardships. We have some of our whiny type hardships, but not true hardship.

Our ancestor's questioned the faith too, I'm sure of it, but they couldn't question the way we can. They would have been completely ostracized, or beaten up. Honestly even today you can't question faith too much because people don't like it. We can do it here because noone knows us, but in our "real" lives we have to be different.

You have to figure God knew that mankind would get really smart, and maybe this is another challenge for mankind, trying to believe. More than likely He knew there would be many faiths, and ultimately we'll know the answers, or not, but faith is something to hold onto, just because it makes you feel good.

I feel better when I ask God for help, or forgiveness. He's there when noone else is. In my mind He's there, and fills up the void.

There's nothing wrong with believing in imaginary figures. Santa Claus comes to mind. He has to be the greatest imaginary figure of all time. He's fun, he's good, he can make kids happier than anybody. There is a sadness when we find out he doesn't really exist, but it's so much fun while you do believe.

I think people have to find what works for them, and forget about all the rest.

So what does that make me?

Many things make you feel good, for example, drugs. Maybe I should start doing some crack to make up for the hole in my life that a lack of faith has placed on me.

Religion is a, ' touchy subject.' However if your looking you might want to give Bible, King James Version a try.
