so when you use that little g in god are you saying baal bless me or ra bless me? But if you weren't disrespecting a holy diety when you said "O my God" then why would parents get so mad for using the Lord's name in vain?
Blonde did you just fall off a turnip truck? It depends on what your parents believe. If they were Hindu they would get upset if you said "Holy Cow" or if you ate a hambuger for lunch.

Or when saying God bless you why would people get so mad for having it said in a school or government building because of seperation of church and state?
If there was indeed separation of church and state in our society then people would probably not get so upset. But there is no separation and every time one of you god believers mutters one of your innane religious remarks it just reminds the rest of us of all the other shenanigains you Christians are up to.

Also what beliefs am I forcing on you? All I am doing is pointing out how stupid your own beliefs are. That is not a belief. Now if you want to sail along on "faith" then have at it, but there is no argument for faith. You either do it, or you don't. It has no justification. Those that would argue to others that it does and to try to convince them to adopt their "faith" are morons. Your best argument is and will always be deeds. Try to see if your "faith" makes you a much better person than a person can be without "faith". I would like to see that. But when it fails for you, then be honest with yourself and realize that faith is only a feeling and that feelings can motivate us to try but they do not automatically allow us to succeed just because we try. To succeed requires a great deal more than "faith". And if you had what it takes you would know better than to post these inane arguments.

So what you're saying is that you believe that my what i believe in is stupid and incorrect. And trust me it is a belief.Belief is a word that means implying accepentce with or without certainty. But you believe with a certainty that my ideas are wrong, while also stating what you believe in as the truth about how we came into being, God's existence, and how 'stupid' Christian beliefs are.

Legally blonde (nod to Starboy),

God is not relevant, until someone needs some God. That requires some lack of certainty, some sense of displacement, loss, out of connection. It seems like Starboy kind of knows what he thinks and believes, and he's fairly comfortable with his life and the way it's going.

So God is largely irrelevant, unnecessary, for Starboy.

When we need something, like say we are Tsunami survivors, ... God is in the airlift of provisions, the clean water, the helping hand.

When we lack peace, God becomes the place where we can find it. We don't have to get God from a Campus Crusader knocking at our door, or a Bible believing born again Christian. God is everywhere. Even in Starboy.

Amazing, and cool.

G-d bless.

Mostly what I have been doing is showing how stupid your arguments are. If there is any belief going on it is the belief that your arguments are convincing to anyone other than yourself.

I never said I wasn't doing that. I said that mostly I was pointing out your stupid arguments. And here I am doing it yet again. In both cases I am forcing nothing on you. You are free to believe anything you like. It is unreasonable of you to think that everyone will agree with you. And depending on the argument or belief it could very well be unreasonable for you to expect most people to agree with you. Just becuase you are convinced of what you believe doesn't mean anything at all for anyone else exept maybe for your mommy and daddy.

I believe that waisting so much emotion and life time arguing on forums about religion is wasteful. They person who started this forum asked what are religion and how open (we believe) our minds are. I am someone with no set religion, though I believe there is a "heaven" of sorts and a "hell" for others, I have not found one "God(ess)" to represent me or what my rules for living my life are. *grin* I guess I am making one up ( a religion) as I go along!

Once when I was young, I was naive enough to believe in Santa, however I grew up and learned the truth, Santa doesn't exist. The exact same is true of God.

Can you prove that Santa doesn't exist?

Good point tman. But full grown adults that believe that santa does exist are considered to be touched in the head. As far as I am concerned the same goes for supernaturalists of all kinds.

Starboy get off your stump. You have made it abundantly clear what your lack of beliefs are. To continually blast another person's beliefs is contrary to the purpose of this thread. "Your Religion." Unless, (Oh I get it) your religion is cutting down everyone else's. Now that makes sense.

Your religion is HATE!

Starboy, prove you don't hate others by walking away from this thread and allowing others to post their beliefs in peace without your constant diatribes. Even Gorgo leaves people alone on this thread, and I would venture to say you both hate God about equally...

I have no problem with people posting their beliefs unless their belief is that I should believe as they do. This is a stump I will not get off. Not in this time, not with this government, and not with the climate that this has produced in this country.
