He was being sarcastic as Scientology is against homosexuality and those two in the picture are scientologist. Correct me if I'm wrong Underbear. Thats just my impression of what you were trying to convey.

Scientology is literally insane.
Technically, they seem to be normal.
Nevertheless, Scientologists' activity is limited and monitored (closely) by U.S. governing body. Scientology is (ofiicially) forbidden in Germany.

One could suspect Val Kilmer, but Dustin Hoffman is another true disappointment.

Anyone see James Spader on Boston Legal in his rant about Scientology? It was hysterical.

Does anyone disagree about scientology being insane?

My favorite part about it is that its creator didn't take it seriously either.

Scientology is literally insane. Some interesting facts about scientology:

1.)It has it's own navy, called Sea Org, which makes it's members sign a billion year contract
2.)It has constantly harrassed it's critics, and assumes all anti-scientologists are criminals; if you watch some of the videos I will later post,y ou will see some examples of this when they start calling the picketers nazis and implying that they are anti-american, as well as child molestors. Sometimes they get really pull tihngs out of nowhere like "You've never had a job" "You're working with criminals from Nigerian druglords"(I wish I was kidding about the last one :( )
3.)The churches original leaders broks into government offices.
4.) They REALLY do believe in Xenu
5.) They pretty much own the city of Clearwater.

Some videos form XenuTV(please, at LEAST watch the one about the police. It's absolutely shocking, not that the picketers are much better in terms of sanity.)-
Scientology's conquering of clearwater: Scientology and the Clearwater Police
Videos of the webmaster being harassed by Scientologists: My Harassment Chronicles
The craziest of ALL the picket videos: Clearwater Picket - July 26, 2000
More insanity from pickets:
Clearwater Picket - August 19, 2000
Clearwater Picket - September 19, 2000
The Trip to Clearwater - July, 1999
Two scientology "handlers" at work: The OT Committee
All of the legal cases involving scientology, including the one about the break-in of government offices: Legal Videos

So, um, discuss. Do you tihnk scientologists should be called out on their tactics and true nature? How do you think we should deal with scientology, keeping in mind that this issue is also one about religious freedom?

Scientology is not insane. The people who fall for it are. They're a few sandwiches short of a picnic. God help them!!!! THEY IS NUTS

This isn't really news or an argument. Everybody has known that Scientology is an incredibly radical and controversial sect of Christianity... im not sure why you are writing a 5 page essay against it now

Yes, these people are nuts, but how are they any worse than any other religion? I mean Catholicism has an entire *NATION* in the middle of Italy and you're complaining about Scientology controlling a city?

All religion is nuts.

There is nothing on earth that is 100% provable; but the evidence for the Christian faith would be adequate enough to hold up in a court of law. Scientology would be laughed out; and athiesm is, in itself, a religion that requires more faith than that of the Christian believer by far.

Argh. There is no such thing as "biblical evidence"...by that logic, the book Dianetics is evidence of Scientologys truth because it's "dianetical evidence". Neither is proven beyond it's own pages, it's just a story book written by humans with some silly fable-like story of a talking snake and an apple. It's like hansel and gretal and all that crap.

No it would not. There is nothing to prove anything about the divine roots of christianity.

Explain to me how atheism is a religion? Keeping in mind the definition of religion. Thank you.

DNA of Jesus, planks from the Arc, even finding the grail, doesn't prove the existance of God. If it did, you might as well say that fossils are evidence of God.
