| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 6 | Abortion Are you pro-life or pro-choice? I stand for pro-life. The babies must not carry the burden of the mother, they should be granted of living in this world. I know it will be hard for the young moms to be a mother at an early age but the babies can be adopted right. If they will insist into having an abortion, they will just commit double homicide. |

We put down unwanted puppies on a daily basis with little debate on the matter. Why is there only concern when it comes to human babies? If you say it's because humans have a soul or were special creations of god, then you're admitting this is a religious position more than a strictly legal one. I propose the only person who should have a say in an abortion is the woman who is carrying the child. The father only contrIbuted sperm and has no further contribution to the birth of the child. Even the law acknowledges the unique relationship between the mother and child by generally awarding custody to her in a divorce unless there are extenuating circumstances involving her being unfit. Abortion is a personal decision. Giving birth to an unwanted or severely disabled child creates a burden on society, a burden you'd think they'd be pleased to avoid by allowing the mother to decide on her own about aborting the fetus. | Digital Witchcraft Posts: 3,020 | Honestly, who cares? I think the issue is terribly over pampered. Religious injected significance on abortion is not needed. If you don’t support abortion because of your religious dogma, then do everyone a favor and toss this “I have to make the righteous decision for all” mind-set. It’s highly annoying. If you believe abortion is murder, explain to me why removing a fetus from a woman’s body is so terribly wrong. Use cold raw reasons. “Everyone deserves a chance to live” is not acceptable. Back it up with WHY. If the reason WHY is religious, then see the second paragraph. Powerful.. magical.. e-e-e-eevil.. |

Also, we hit animals in our cars regularly. Are you saying that running over a squirrel is just as bad as hitting a child chasing a ball across the street? | |

I am saying it must be done with respect and consideration of the circumstances. At times it's necessary, at other times it's unjustifiable. I do not believe there's anything unique about humans other than that I are one (personal bias). :) The Forum Rules Radical Atheist Heathen Queer Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.
