God helps those who help themselves...should've brought that 12 gauge auto-loader eh? 'It's not being unfaithful God! It's just insurance!'

I know your type. You think, "I'll just get me a costume, rip off the neighborhood kids." Next thing you know, you've got a jet shaped like a skull with lasers on the front!

lololol....we that proves to me I'm on the right path....maybe we should get more theists to take tests of faith...I am sure that if God exists he would save every pious one of them.

He must have been a pretty devout one as well. No sane person would jump into a lion cage unless they were pretty sure God was going to intervene on thier behalf.

Come on Vern where are you to defend God when he fails one of the faithful :)

Why is the pool so warm around vern...
It reminds me of the story of the guy who proved on paper that gravity didn't exist and to confirm it, jumped out the 82nd floor window and fell to his messy death.

Yup, the gene pool could really use a little chlorine.

When God fails one of the faithful? Your understanding of God is no better than the understanding of the idiot who jumped into the cage. What does the BIBLE SAY??

The Bible says, "THOU SHALT NOT TEMPT THE LORD THY GOD."

Do you understand THAT? Let me enlighten your darkened mind. What did Jesus answer when a foolish challenge was given to Him? Jesus said, "thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." Now let us see if you know a tiny smattering of the Bible by being able to locate that answer in the Bible.

You see--no, I guess you don't--that Jesus answered such a challenge properly and God the Father honored Him for doing so. BUT FOOLS DARE SAY THAT THE IDIOT WHO JUMPED DID WHAT WAS RIGHT, BUT THAT GOD FAILED HIM!!

SEE THAT, EVERYONE?? GOD'S ENEMIES ARE STILL ACCUSING HIM INSTEAD OF THE ONE WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN ACCUSED. EXHIBIT #1: PROOF THAT GOD'S ENEMIES HAVE NOT LEARNED ANYTHING MORE THAN THE REBELLION ADAM EXHIBITED WHEN HE ACCUSED GOD IN THE GARDEN OF EDEN: "The woman YOU gave me to be with me--SHE gave me of the fruit and I did eat." Samildanach's own words testify against him.

seven sixteenths of one inch. That's the distance you'd have to move your pinky in order to not sound like an idiot. Seriously, man, tone it down a little.

Yes, I know where the caps lock is. I also know the proclivity of fallen men to refuse to understand, so I put those things in caps to which you would should pay particular attention thinking it might aid you with an ailment common to fallen men, an inability to "see." I give you the answer and I emphasize it to compensate for unbeliever's animosity to the truth and you call ME an idiot. I notice that you did not see any point in calling Samildanach down while he was excoriating God for "failing!" Sooo--You rejoice in Samildanach's stupid comment, but the truth sounds like idiocy to you, does it??

Yes, I often find when someone doesn't understand me, yelling is the best strategy.

I am beginning to see now why athiests are starting to become more and more prominent in society.
Its because there is a negative evolutionary pressure on the theists. Give it another two hundred years or so and a few more lion cage incidents and there won't be many of them left.

Forgive me for being blunt but I don't give a rats arse what the bible says. If God isn't reliable what the hells the point in having him round? This poor guy probabl worshipped him on his hands and knees his whole life, thinks right I can walk into the lion cage...God protected Daniel after all...I have precedent on my side and is immediately snacked on like a chicken mcnugget. Maybe the lion believes in God and was feeling kind of hungry so God sent him a feast.
If you can't rely on God to save you what good is he?
As Kite points out, I'd rather rely on the laws of physics and a shotgun in that kind of situation.

Seriously, anyone with the most rudimentary knowledge of the Christian faith would know that this man would not have been protected, as evidenced by the stories pointed out by Vern. Daniel was saved, but he did not test the Lord; the man was thrown into the pit by those demented Romans (if my memory serves me correctly, which it doesn't at times). I don't particularly follow the Christian dogma anymore, but if one is going to claim to follow it, they had better at least know the limits.

This guy should be a finalist for the Darwin Awards, though. Gotta be one of the stupidest things I've heard of in a while.
