"...if he exists." He did not believe.

Hmmm....so what you are saying is the man walked into the lion den with doubt in his mind that God exists knowing that the lion would eat him if he didn't believe totally....doesn't ring true to me.

I would have to believe something TOTALLY before doing something that perilous.

I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me.

Well the average human would probably have a flicker of doubt when a 300 some pound lion is about to sever their cartoid artery.

I know your type. You think, "I'll just get me a costume, rip off the neighborhood kids." Next thing you know, you've got a jet shaped like a skull with lasers on the front!

Howitzer > lions.
Pwnt
It seems the consensus is either the guy was off his nut or just somone who believed a bit too much. I don't think god would exactly want people to follow this guy's example anyway...

Lions - 1
Christians - 0

Saint V, you seem to believe that "IF" was this guys downfall, and not the lion being a lion. Since your faith is unshakable would you feel safe in the lions den?

Not entering of your own free will of course (tempting God and all), but being thrown to the lions like the early Christians were. IF that were the case then do you feel your faith alone would save you?

Try reading the entire discussion, as you will see it proven that being contemptful of God and questioning "if he exists" does not entitle you the protections that are promised us when this world--Satan's kingdom--sets out to destroy us. Being that he was neither a believer nor "thrown to the lions" puts the matter out of range of your questions.

God is independant and the living entity is independant

Generally spiritual life innvolves the living entity being submissive to god - the purer the devotee the more easier it is for him to make decisions based on serving god (as opposed to desires for name, fame etc) more reciprocation god will exhibit towards his servant.

So this guy going to the zoo was he a pure devotee or was he a neophyte who runs around with the view that "god is the greatest because I am the greatest" ?- Is that all god is? A worker in one's personal garden for self aggrandizement?

The guy deserved to be eaten
