Perhaps we should surround the entire USA with steel walls and machine gun turrets to ward off all invaders. That way we can keep our country safe while being able to continue our imperialist efforts throughout the world.

This is an extremely ignorant statement. Imperialism means "of a country having control or sovereignty over other countries." The west is not trying to take control of Islamic countries.
Maybe so, but this war has been going on since the middle ages. It is a war about competing worldviews.

You're sharing this information without any personal or impersonal evidence.
In actuality, the United States and allies have been trying to control other countries for years now.
That's an entry-level observation, too.
The State Department itself admits to trying to control Haiti, for example.

Post by post, building his arguments by smashing a couple of theirs -- for America.
The US tries to control other countries only to the extent that they not become havens for terrorism or the drug trade. The US certainly does not want to have sovereignty over these countries. It's not worth the trouble. To think that the US got attacked because it is an imperialist nation is incorrect. If the US were an Islamic nation, given that the world's economic conditions are the same, the US would not have been attacked. Muslims don't kill other muslims (in theory), but they do kill infidels. Also, one can't claim that the attacks against the UK, Spain and France were because they were imperialists. Furthermore, what is going on in Syria, Chechnya, Nepal, Egypt, etc. are not because of imperialism. Turkey and the rest of central Europe have been dealing with this war since the middle ages. Iran does not want Israel wiped off the face of the Earth because they are afraid Israel is trying to subjugate them. All of these conflicts are not over natural resources. The enemy is not a particular country. The enemy wants peace just as we do, only they want it in the terms of their worldview.
You've got it backwards. This war existed long before the US did. This war is not over natural resources, a strategic location or against a country. It's not even a war over a political philosophy. It's much bigger than what the US is involved with. The US and its actions are therefore irrelevant. It is the beliefs of the enemy that is relevant.

Nothing like faith to deny facts! Capitalism is about thieving, and the US is the central capitalist country. It also trains its citizens to believe it is okay to kill for property with firearms, so there it is. Contradictory assertions are not going to get us anywhere, however. If you believe the US is a sweet little leaping lamb, good luck, and keep out of biting range! :)
