I enjoyed the premiere of this show last night, and it's gotten a lot of flack from American Family Association even getting NBC affiliate in Indiana WTWO to refuse to air it. FOX NEWS last night had some oaf guest hosting on O'Reilly's show bad mouthing it as well.
It had great characters, the gay son was the actor in the movie TRICK, and there is the Episcopalian priest's mother who has alzhiemers disease that was awesome. The actor playing Jesus is my favorite he had a really wry sense of humor,( which is something I suspect the Historic Jesus probably had too.)If anyone else watched it, I'd like to see your comments.NBC also has a site devoted to the show, with a forum of comments, and a blog, for those interested.

Hypocrites! Fox airs the show "Will and Grace", which is all about homosexuality.

Anyway, I thought it was entertaining. Even if I did have to suspend disbelief quite a bit. I dont believe the per capita for gays would 2 gays in the same family, along with a drug dealing kid that doesnt use drugs, but her dad who is a priest does abuse drugs. The Jesus character was not all that controversial which makes me suspect the hype was all propaganda for ratings.

I would watch it again. I missed about 20 minutes of the 2nd hour, because I thought it was over after 1 hour. When I came back the oriental kid was in the hospital, I assume he was molesting the willing child while driving.....

Next episode has the priest dealing with the mob. Should be interesting.

btw. I know one guy who at 16yo who was coming out, and I thought that was very cool of him, turns out all 4 siblings of his (that were older) were gay/lesbian. I also knew a father and son each gay, and identical twin men both gay, so finding another queer family member isn't that unusual.

btw. Adam the Japanese adopted son, was in his girlfriend's bed, (she was consensual), her parents came home, Adam crawled out her window onto a tree branch which crashed down on the girl's father's Jaguar.
