So who saw Narnia?

I hope there isn't a thread on this, lost in the bottom, I really can't do too much "surfing" it's painful, slow na dbad for my mental health, so forgive me if one has been started.

I saw it, loved it. VERY well done I think, and I can't wait for the rest of the series to make it to the big screen.

I was impressed at how well the story stayed true to the CS Lewis version, I was worried they would have... altered it through a PC lens. That would have ruined the movie IMHO.

Anyhoots, I thought Aslan's death and ressurection was a bit glossed over... but other then that, it was a great flick.

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

I saw it Vic and it was beautiful. That little girl immediately captured your heart, wow!
It is unbeleiveable what they can do with the screen today. Exceptional, but I rarely go to movies, Volconvo is the best.

Yep saw Narnia..was pretty true to the book as you said. Thought the witch queen was brilliant especially when she was fighting and the phoenix was really well done as well. The little girl as zealot said looked like she was having the time of her life. :)

You just like it because its about Christianity. If Jesus wasn't portrayed by Aslan and instead the whole theme of the movie was supposed to be backing Buddhism, I'm sure the movie wouldn't have seemed so "well done."

You are SOOO right Soccer freak, the movie and the book wouldn't have been very good IMHO if it were about Buddism. Since I am not a Buddist I wouldn't have "gotten it" nearly as well.

I have to wonder, what your point is then? Just a quickie attempt to score "I annoyed a Christian" points?

Your comment is rather, goofy to say the least. That's like saying I wouldn't have enjoyed "The Passion of Christ" if it was about the Dali Lama nearly as much as I did. You're right, I wouldn't. Thus I ask what is your point?

PS I went and added this to the most idiotic statements thread, you should be proud. I don't normally take the time to do so.

Have you seen "The Passion of the Mutant Zombies from Outer Space"? I hear they have taken most of the Christianity pretty much out of the film due to public outcry.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

Because you actually tried to make it sound like this movie was a hall of famer or something. Also, I just wanted to see your reaction, which I wasn't surprised, just a bunch of frustration; hence the idiotic statement post. That's ok, embarrasment can lead to frustration I suppose.

What? You embarressed me? Only in your dreams guy. You made wonder what the heck your point was. Obviously you HAD no point, just an attempt to score points with your "anti-Christian" crowd. Have you even seen the movie? Or read the book?

I enjoy movies, I like seeing books I have read made into movies if they are well done. In terms of a conversion to the big screen, this was a wonderfully done movie, and yes, I would rank this a top 10 flick for this decade.

But hey, you THINK you have a witty attack, you tried, you failed, have a nice day.

You know, I have never read the Chronicles of Narnia and this from an avid bookworm. I've been reading just about anything I can get my hands on since I was young...but I never have read this set and had no clue that it had Christian undertones to it...interesting. I've seen the previews..looks really good...so I plan to see it. I need to read the books too.

Lewis' Narnia reminded me of Tolkien's Rings in the sense that I enjoyed the first book and got progressively more annoyed/bored as I read each book which followed. By the end of the Narnia series, I truely loathed Lewis.

I think Jackson did a good job translating Tolkein's strong points onto the screen. I'm sure I'll get around to seeing Narnia. I did find Alsan to be annoying on the page. Be interesting to see how he plays on the screen.

It's a good film. Felt right - good animation, thankfully no serious (that I remember) chunks removed from the book. I hope they manage to struggle through and do all 7.....

The Chronicles of Narnia does have the distinction of being perhaps the only body of work beloved of traditional Christians in which the main characters come out of the closet.

Sorry.

I haven't seen the film, and judging by less than 10 folks that saw it on this forum, if I was the producer or director, I wouldn't be bankrolling the sequel.

Actually, it's been doing well in the box office. I LOVED it. I was so afraid they were going to mess it up, not only in a PC mangling kind of way, but also in the same way they seem to have screwed up the Harry Potter movies (although in all fairness, the most recent wasn't all that bad). I was impressed by the attention to detail.
