First off, he didn't write ANY of the books, they were all ghost written for him. Secondly, there's no evidence that his books have had any significant impact on gangs or gang violence. In fact, gang violence has increased since he has been in prison.

I believe Co-Author is the proper term, unless you have a reliable source that shows otherwise. It must be nearly impossible to get anything published from "inside". From Death Row. Think about it. His co-auther dealt with publishers and agents and charities etc.
