| BANNED Posts: 5,021 | Body Hair It seems like it's becoming more popular for men to remove their body hair, esp. their pubic hair, something that seemly has been standard for women for quite some time (maybe not as true for pubic hair). So what do you prefer on your woman or man? This is your hypothetical ideal preference, mind you. Not what your current partner currently has. Last edited by tman_ndsu08; Dec 6, 2005 at 03:46 pm. |

I didn't mean for this poll to be about choosing men. In fact I was thinking mostly guys would respond on here about their preference for women. EDIT: wait a minute you're a chick aren't you. The poll wasn't about choosing a partner exclusively based on body hair. Obviously that isn't that case. It's about your ideal preference.

| Principled Observer Location: Toledo, Ohio Posts: 13,873 | I don't like body hair, on myself or my significant other. When I was actively pursuing powerlifting/bodybuilding, I actually shaved or defollicled regularly for two reasons.... vanity to a degree, and the fact that I just plain don't like hair as opposed to smooth, supple skin. I also noticed a big thing in women when I did that. Some women are EXTREMELY turned on by the lack of hair. Some are EXTREMELY turned off by it. They seemed to be either very hot or very cold, almost none I dated "didn't care" either way. I always chuckled at the term "Metro-Sexual", because in so many ways there are some truths to the label, but many myths also, as with most labels applied in the form of massive generalization. I think if people take pride in their body, it shows, and when I went to great lengths to take care of it, I showed it in that way also. I don't shave bare anymore, but I do trim, and couldn't imagine what I would look like if I didn't. (eeek) Some people are just naturally hairy man. Who finds a guy that has back hair so thick it makes their t-shirt look padded attractive? Even more, how about a woman who shares the same predicament if left to nature? Neither sounds attractive to me...... Why is it ok for a man to shave his face, but nothing else? Another interesting culturally imposed normalcy question..... If there was an easy way, sure, I'd get rid of all my body hair. But as far as I know there isn't. | |

If you don't want to tell us because you're scared that your partner will find out that you prefer something that he doesn't have, fine.

Okay, fine then. if he doesn't look like he's wearing a sweater when he's shirtless, he's doing all right. ![]() Making people go, "WTF?!?!?" since 1979.

| Hardcore Capitalist Location: North Carolina Posts: 759 | I haven't shaved in about two weeks. I don't feel I should have to. My dad keeps saying that girls don't want a hairy man, but if they can't see past my hair and look at the kind of person I am, then I want nothing to do with them. | BANNED Posts: 2,630 | I wouldn't select a partner solely on body hair, I've had partners that were very hairy, and others with almost no body hair. Body hair is a nice BONUS on an otherwise compatable partner, not a deal breaker for those without body hair. The gay community has developed a group of hirsute and large men.....BEARS, but there are also those who like sleek hairless bodies, different strokes! |

Almost all people judge on first site. If you're going to be a giant dirtball then no one is going to even bother to try and get to know you because they're going to automatically perceive you to be a bum and not want to even approach you in the first place. And it's your fault for not at least putting the minimal effort out there to be approachable.

But I like my men "rough" like that. | Volcanic Erupter Posts: 9,491 | I grew a beard when I was 18. I considered shaving it off when in my thirties I went to grad school, but thought better of it. My wife has never seen my naked face. Shaving might scare her away. Now that I am achieving old-fartdom, I have been told that my salt and pepper bear looks distinquished. Ish, it never occurred to me to even try braiding the hair under my arms. Is it fun? Rick "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." Sinclair Lewis |

| voyager Location: where I am free Posts: 111 | I personally don't shave at all anywhere. I haven't for years. The woman I am with doesn't care because I keep clean and that is the key to all of this for both of us. I don't care whether she shaves or not but change can be fun sometimes. Don't believe in haircuts either. |
