| BANNED: Repeated warnings, troll Posts: 1,431 | Billion Dollar Man In 1988, several dozen AM stations began carrying a show hosted by a 37- year old college drop out named Rush Limbaugh. Advertising himself as 'the most dangerous man in America,' Limbaugh attracted listeners by combining political jokes, thrundering polemics, and outrageous overstatement. He spoke, he said, 'with half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair, because I have a talent on loan from God.' Soon hundreds of stations were carrying his show, which by now has generated well more than $1 billion in revenue. Truly a self made man who can't be stopped or matched. Hard as the left may try, they cannot come up with a character so loved and listened to as Rush. He was a voice in the wilderness standing against the socialist, anti-American media till now he has been joined by a multitude of hosts who are also taking the fight across the air waves of Amereica and the world. In addition to his newsletter there are fan clubs and Rush rooms where memorabilia is displayed, traded and sold. People like Ted Kennedy and Jesse Jackson stop and take notice when Rush tells the world the other side of the story, the truth. Thank God for Rush, a true, great American! Edited in part from the Washington Times, 'Culture, etc.' Dec.4th. http://www.AmericasNewspaper.com |

They are a death-squad loving trashcan liner of a rag. Rush is a drug-using hypocrite who is full of demonic spirits of addiction, murder and death and he supports those policies by the US goverrnment while lining his own pockets and seducing American sheep into becoming his little dittoheads. You ought to do a little research if you wanta be a Christian, Zealot. Otherwise the Devil dazzles you with his flash while he savages your soul... Limbaugh's speech is not encased in vitriol nor does he profess to be Christian. My research has revealed that hatred and jealousy resides not in the speech of a so-called Christian. In answer to you, I caution you with the words of Jesus when he was approached by the Devil spewing words of deceit, "Get thee behind me Satan."

I expect the same thing the Penn thread "There is no god" does. Controversial, sure to stir up debate and get attention. A good discussion could come from this about the phenomenon of talk radio and how it has grown in the past 20 years. It could maybe help us all to be more tolerant of people we disdain and try to look at their good points. Pretty good, huh?

How about talk radio poopy. Has it grown to a big business? Maybe if you tried to find some good in others, they would find good in you!

Years ago I did use to listen to him when I could hear him while working. The man is talented at what he does. College drop out yes, but if you check out the family tree this guy comes from you can understand his brilliance. Father a judge and there are a ton of lawyers in the immediate family. He struggled, was fired a whole bunch of times trying to do the radio he loved. Eventually in his late thirties he began to have some success. Now he has become probably the most successful radio personality of all time (at least financially). His intelligence would probably be at least within the top 1% of the population. You may hate what he says, but he can back his thoughts up well and has converted many people away from socialism, communism and liberalism. It is a bit predictable in that you kind of know what he will say, but his analysis of things is often excellent and he will make great points other thinkers miss. So he is more prepared than most people on topics he covered. If he's earned a billion personally, it's because he's earned those he's worked for many billions as well. I think he has inspired many people to be the best they can, to embrace personal responsibility and to go out and take a risk in life to be great. He's also very polite to most guests unless the guests are way rude. He deserves his success. He works hard for it and George Bush could do nothing to stop that hurricane from hitting his place last month! | The Truth Posts: 1,723 | I agree with everything except your tag line regarding Jean Schmidt. As her neighbor, I can tell you she is a dimwitted liar. She's a RINO and she's facing a serious primary challenge here next spring - so she has to come off as conservative as possible over the next few months to cover up her connection to Ohio's worst Governor ever (Bob "criminal conviction" Taft) and his tax increases. The only reason she's temporarily in office now is because it was an 11-way race and she was the only woman to choose from - so naturally a significant portion of the female vote went to her, and the 2nd and 3rd place guys were so similar they split the vote. She doesn't deserve to be in office, she LIED about the alleged "message from a Marine" - he says he never gave her that message and he is privately denouncing her locally. Please don't glorify her any more. She's a tax-raising fiscal liberal who sticks her foot in her mouth far too often and cannot think on her feet. She nearly got beat by a Democrat in one of the strongest seats in the country. She is REALLY that bad. She's a walking case for ranked voting instead of winner take all systems. But I do love Rush (who, also tagged her as a non-conservative tax raiser on his show August 3rd.). I can even email you the audio if you PM me. Last edited by Dirty Name; Dec 3, 2005 at 08:55 am. |

Filled with the spirit of our adversary... Praising the demonic shows an extreme lack of discernment and causes me to question a brother's salvation, because the spirit of truth leads us into truth. A word of warning from one concerned for your very soul. Take it or leave it; you've been warned... Meanwhile, give me Howard Stern over Rush any day (and I don't even like Stern.) Patrick, Ish and Chris, I can understand your dislike for Rush, he has accomplished more than you have in your wildest dreams. BTW, Mr Moon is off topic sir. If you wish to discuss him you should start another thread, ok? The same goes for Bill Stern too, right? Just think, a college drop out winding up with 15 million devoted listeners and in demand from radio stations all over the world. Yes, and your heroes on Radio Air America are one step form bankruptcy making Rush look so good, huh? As far as salvation goes my friend, better leave that one up to God our you risk the title of a gossip. And ya know, Rush is so polite and gentile, he would never resort to gossip and mean spiritedness. Notice how the old timer still holds the attention of the world. Thank God for Rush, he stands for America!

He's a talk show personality. That's it. An entertainer. What's to worship as you do? (BTW-I've never listened to Air America, or an entire Rush broadcast.) Hes made more than a billion dollars for his stations in the 20 odd years hes been on the air, not to mention he was and still is a pioneer in the radio industry. I know your type. You think, "I'll just get me a costume, rip off the neighborhood kids." Next thing you know, you've got a jet shaped like a skull with lasers on the front! -The Monarch |

A THREAD ABOUT RUSH LIMBAUGH! About the history of a man who has accomplished much and has been a good example to others who wish to make something of themselves thru hard work and determination. At the age of eight Rush determined to be a radio announcer. And yes, he had a good family background, another good role model. Do you disparage that too? He is also a very tolerant man Chris, are you? Would it be better if I worshipped you?
