Tons of British aid donated to help Hurricane Katrina victims to be burned

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/tm_obje...name_page.html
Quote:
Hundreds of tons of British food aid shipped to America for starving Hurricane Katrina survivors is to be burned.

US red tape is stopping it from reaching hungry evacuees.

Instead tons of the badly needed Nato ration packs, the same as those eaten by British troops in Iraq, has been condemned as unfit for human consumption."There will be a cloud of smoke above Little Rock soon - of burned food, of anger and of shame that the world's richest nation couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery and lets Americans starve while they arrogantly observe petty regulations.

"Everyone is revolted by the chaotic shambles the US is making of this crisis. Guys from Unicef are walking around spitting blood.

"This is utter madness. People have worked their socks off to get food into the region.

Bush's American looks more and more like a banana republic.

Rick, is that all you ever do? Bush is not the only one to blame for all of the countries problems. What about the local officials who did not utilize hundreds of buses that are now under water in New Orleans? What about the Governor who did not ask for national guardsmen?

Also, since when are people still starving in New Orleans? This article seems like more of an overly-dramatic tabloid than news.

Well, it's his (G.W. Bush)administraton, his policies, his bad personnel decisons, his bad intel., bullhead reasoning not to listen to the generals, enstead of guys that have never have been near a shot fired in anger. I guess part of it is Bush's problem. And yes, the local politico's tried to avoid the bullet with their name on it. I lived on the Gulf coast for 20yrs and every year they talked about the big one that will one day hit N.O. I guess they never expected it to happen. I fault several elected officials going back at least 20 yrs.If they are going to rebuild it better then they need to figure out a way to raise the city and build a seawall and the outer islands to absorb the hurricane that hits, because, this will happen again and again until we tired of bailing out N.O.

Please be be so kind as to go pound sand dot. Bush's FEMA is a disaster itself, stuffed with political hacks and lay abouts. But no, according to you, Bush bears no responsibility. According to you, he seems to be able to do no wrong.

Are you claiming that no one among the folks who lost everything they owned isn't hungry or that burning relief supplies is a good thing to do?

More "compassionate conservativism". Sickening.

Bush took responsiblity for the federal government's sluggish response. Now it's time for the mayor of New Orleans and the governor to do the same. Because of the mayors inaction thousands of people have died when they could have been saved. All those buses sat in the parking lots, and for what? The mayor and governor share a MUCH bigger share of the blame than does Bush.

The Guv shouldnt have to ask for Nat. Guard, they should not be overseas to begin with. Bush REALLY IS AT FAULT. Quit playing the "Shift the Blame Game"

Then the USA could be liable for any "Alzheimers" incidents abroad.

The Mirror is about the same level as the Sun - it's a tabloid....which isn't to say it may have *some* basis in fact....

I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Ah come on be fair, it isn't quite as low as The Sun. The Mirror has at least two more pages of news that the Sun would otherwise be dedicating to talk of Corrie or Eastenders.

More FEMA madness. The folks who are supposed to help have been actively blocking relief.
