| Hardcore Capitalist Location: North Carolina Posts: 759 | Alright guys, enough with the insults. I think we've established that austin hates women and should be ignored. austin: Stop making threads about the same subject. You already have two threads like this in the Society and Rights forum. Take your rants there, and stop flooding the forums with these "I hate woman and they are all evil" threads. Enough is enough. Let's be honest...such an over-the-top bashing post deserves similar replies. If one strives to be an extremist, one should anticipate extreme reactions. | Hardcore Capitalist Location: North Carolina Posts: 759 | Alright, I will. I can understand some of austins hatred toward women, it is often easy to hate what you can't attain or what plagues you. I fall into that category. I try not to hate, because I realize that all women are not the same. Maybe it's just the area I live in. I've often noticed that the farther North I go, the more women seem to take an interest in me (I don't know why). They seem to be much easier to talk to up there than here. Hence my burning desire to get away from the south and up north (plus the cooler temps are an added benefit). I also noticed that even the intelligent women down here fall into that "protect me and take care of me" category. I want someone who will take care of herself and not look to me to solve all of her problems. Someone who is truly independent and can carry on an intelligent conversation about real world events, not stupid topics like "who tom cruise is dating" or the latest reality show. Part of what you said is odd to me - most men find Southern women friendlier. But the other part is probably true - we are raised to be Scarlett O'Hara's here.... | Retired Posts: 7,312 | So? They don't have to cost a lot of money - you buy your family an friends presents....the man who gives randoms are rare, and I for one was tickled with a beautiful bear I got from my bf last year. I found out it was on sale for $5. I don't care - I still cherish it! He gave me roses only on V-day and B-days and that was fine. "...with like-minded people one cannot discuss. | Hardcore Capitalist Location: North Carolina Posts: 759 | But why buy anything? Why not just say happy birthday or something along those lines (I don't celebrate pegan holidays like Valentines Day)? I would never expect a present from her, except sex but that's free! | moderat-e/o-r Location: boston Posts: 11,184 | valentine's day.. ha.. my girlfriend doesn't give a shit about that fake holiday. neither do i. i can't remember, but i don't think we even gave each other cards this past v-day.. we probably went out for drinks and appetizers instead. v-day was just another reason to go out. christmas... big deal. they call it the "gift of giving".. no different than buying presents for a friend. birthday.. big deal.. one day in a 365 day year.. no different than buying presents for a friend. and random gifts.. i personally don't mind these either. seems that i buy a lot of random stuff, at random times.. i'll get different food/treats like chocolate covered pretzels.. different sorts of flowers (easy to buy them since they're always selling them at the subway - i grab them coming home from work).. if $10 for a bouquet busts your wallet, you probably need a better education and a better job. last gift i got her was a $20 pair of sony headphones - i bought them, in part, because she stupidly bought those ear phones and thought she could wear them for our 12+ hour flight to hawaii.. heh, the best gifts, though, don't cost money.. cleaning the apartment, cooking me dinner, doing the laundry.. that stuff warms the cockles of my heart. heh, especially when i do most of that stuff most of the time. |
