| Sedimentary Rock Location: Texas aka Bush Country Posts: 5 | Sit Down and Let Agnus Explain this Whole Stem-Cell Research Thing A lot of people don't seem to understand why President and Lori Bush oppose the Stem-cell research and how it promotes abortions, so I think this would be a good time to explain it. Now, it gets kind of complex and science-y, so stay with me until the abortion part, ok? Ok. First of all, stem-cell research is a product of another medical process called "In Vito Fertilization." In Vito Fertilization is a way for couples to have babies where the woman could not conceive a child, whether it is because of a medical thing or an extended bad mood or whatever. Where the woman has one of these problems, In Vito Fertilization ((IVF) can be done, where the baby is fertilized in the MAN instead of the woman. The procedure was first done on an Italian man named Vito, thus the name. Anyways, to get the baby out, they have to remove the man's manhood, or "stem," and throw it away. Now, what the researchers want is to save the cells from the "stem" and use them for research, since they are amazingly changeable-- they can go from being really small (in cold water for instance) to really big in a short period of time. And that way, supposedly, they can cure cancer and so forth. So what does this have to do with abortion, you may ask? Well, what do you think is going to happen to the political opposition to abortion if MEN (the primary opponents of abortion) start having the babies and the removal of the stems and so on? That, and this procedure can be used by the Gays to have children! Then they COULD reproduce, and that would be further trouble for the Christians, because the Gays are against them, and then there would be more abortions. It really is not that complex, and it is important to support the Bushes and the Chainies and all the others who are against using stem cells (which, when you think about it, is kind of a gross thing to have put inside of you anyways). |

| Sedimentary Rock Location: Texas aka Bush Country Posts: 5 | I think my explanation is exemplary, and my research on the subject is unquestionable. My concept of "Stem Cells" and its ties to Italy reminds me of another Italian by the name of Bill Smith. He was a moyel from Genoa and performed brisses--for a fee, which means he removed small amounts of stem cells from very small male babies. And although this procedure is now a little controversial, in those days it was common. Anyway, after years of doing this, he has this odd collection of stem cells which he takes to a local leatherworker. "Make me a suitcase." So his friend takes all the clippings and gets to work. Bill comes back a week later and asks his friend for the suitcase. "Harvey, (he's also Italian) where's my suitcase." At which point Harvey takes out the most beautiful wallet that Bill has ever seen. "Harvey, I said suitcase!" Harvey smiles and hands him the wallet, "Rub it." |

Methinks if should have dawned on you at least by the point of "removing the man's 'stem' " I'm unclear, however, of the value of starting a thread around his little joke. Was there some potential for discussion here, or was this simply an opportunity to imortalize the wit of agnusmcswain? . I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it |

| BANNED Posts: 5,021 | Hmm. Now I will admit when I read the first post it sounded weird to me and it's my fault for being too stupid to know the truth, but I'm getting sick of these pseudo serious "joke" posts. Could they at least put a smiling face at the end or something? |

| THROBBIN ROBIN Location: USA Posts: 311 | It took me a moment, and I had blistering reply, until I read the "stem" part. Very funny, although the thread is in the wrong forum.... tee-hee. "Rub it" I get it! :) Maybe I have a twisted sense of humor  DON'T TAKE AWAY MY RIGHTS JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T EXERCISE YOURS. What is scary is that there are morons here who would actually buy the initial post. Fixed ideas are like a cramp in the foot - the best remedy against it is to tread on it. -Søren Kierkegaard |
