Just how exactly do you suggest that we 'exert diplomatic pressure' on him? Interesting article this: http://www.dailystar.com/dailystar/printDS/60952.php 'Daniel Goure, a Defense Department official in the first Bush administration, said there's another reason for the different treatment of Iran and North Korea: Iran might be more persuadable by strong words than North Korea. "North Korea is a basket-case state. It's a total rogue regime. I don't think that when you look at the nature of the regime, any of the proposals for how to work a deal are credible," said Goure. "But I think there is a view in the administration that Iran can change. The mullahs are not forever. Iran may be radical and difficult, but it is not crazy."' Similarly, it may be said that North Korea is a mythical threat conjured by the US government. I am very skeptical that North Korea is a threat to anyone. In fact, I think an attack on North Korea could cause more harm than good. You would have millions of refugees swarming into China, Russia, and South Korea. A collapsing North Korean regime may fire off their stocks of WMD at everyone around them. South Korea will likely also collapse under artillery and missile attacks. How many civilian deaths do you think 50 years worth of missiles can cause? ![]() Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you. |

It was only Bush's "Axis of Evil" policy which scared them into speaking up. Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you. |

North Korea is widely believed to have enough weapons-grade plutonium for a half-dozen nuclear bombs. Asked by ABC News if it was building more, Vice Foreign Minister Kim Gye Gwan said: "Yes." "As for specifically how many we have, that is a secret," he said. Kim also implied the North was able to mount nuclear warheads on its missiles which, if true, would be a potentially significant advance for the communist state. "Our scientists have the knowledge, comparable to other scientists around the world," he said. Though there was no way to confirm North Korea's claims, Japan responded by saying it believes North Korea's nuclear weapons programs are "considerably advanced." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050609/...RvBHNlYwN3bA-- |

A question for tinybear... will YOU be enlisting in the military to actively engage in this bit of skulduggery or will you be allowing others to do the dirty work for you? | |

That way you're contributing to the US war effort without having to shoot anyone.
