Mom indicted for hiring stripper for 16yo son

Can you believe this crap? They are treating this couple like criminals. Guess it is a crime to have a close, fun relationship with your teen these days.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A mother faces criminal charges after she hired a stripper to dance at her 16-year-old son’s birthday party.

Anette Pharris, 34, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and involving a minor in obscene acts. The boy’s father, the stripper and two others also face charges.

“I tried to do something special for my son,” Pharris said. “It didn’t harm him.”

Stripping is base and demeaning, both to the stripper and the viewers. Subjecting a young man to that kind of stimulation is no different than if he were publicly groped by an adult woman. The parents definately showed poor judgment. Crime? Well, without knowing more it's hard to say. If he were only a year or two younger it might be considered child abuse...

Save it Starboy, this has nothing to do with your bias against religious people and everything to do with a person that broke an established law.

But that having been said... it's a stupid law.

Where do you draw the line? Would you feel any different if the boy were 12? A line has to be drawn at some place. Like it or not the law drew the line at 18 and the law has to be obeyed.

Way to ruin the best 16th birthday party ever.

Laws were never about people anyway, just the collison of varibles. Thus the drawing of a line must apply for all.

Hey, is it true in some US states, the legal age for shagging is actually 18? 0_o

Because it seems unbelievable and shortsighted? Do you know the answer, tb?

I've never heard that before. It's legal for a minor to have sex with another minor within a certain age range, and even for an adult to have sex with a minor within a certain age range (like a 17 and 19 year old)

Well the kid didn't have sex with the stripper so age of consent is not the issue. In contrast, someone under 21 cannot drink alcohol in public.(restaurants) UNLESS a parent is present. Also, in some states an underage child can marry an adult or a contemporary with the parents consent.

As far as looking at boobs and such, parents can take any age of child to a rated R movie where a lot more is shown.

That is my point. Christians are just too good at making stupid laws. I am waiting for the stink to stick.

It's OK if it's Mom's boobs, right? I think there must be a law on that topic somewhere. Any lawyers here wish to comment?

Perhaps because the majority are idiots who wouldn't recognize a real argument or legal premise?

Peter used to post here and he was a lawyer.
