Liberals always are quick to throw out terms like homophobe, bigot, racist, xenophobe, etc, because they can't debate, don't like facts, and thus have to distract and attempt to put the conservative in the position of defending themself from the charge.

Apparently the bulk of the members here, posting to this subject, believe that homosexuals are born that way. But there is another school of thought (and one I agree with) that believes that homosexuality is a learned behavior, like learning to read and write. Exposure to elements in one's surroundings creates the behavior in certain susceptible people. That's why not all siblings in a family become homosexuals.

And of course, relating this to the topic of this thread, people with my belief on homosexuality, are always called homophobes because we don't allow for it to be a god given trait and instead think it's one of convenience and/or irrationality.

I am willing to entertain the thought that people are born with it. The fact is that at this time none of us know. I think people are born with tendencies but nobody can comment on genetic wiring.
Either way, the good book states that the act is wrong, common sense tells me it's un-natural, that is what really matters.

I don't think there is anything wrong with gays. I don't care if a guy wants to stick his dick up another guy's ass. Just keep it out of my ass.

The only problem I have is the "Gay Pride" issue. Look I'm Asian, I'm straight, and I have a penis. I don't have Asian Pride, Straight Pride, or Penis Pride parades.

Be gay, have fun, but don't shove brochures in my face.

Oh tut, tut. I disagree with you, but I'm not a homophobe. I hate that term, it's a disparaging word that homosexuals love to toss at straight folks.

If you start a thread on homosexuality, you must know that you are going to get remarks from the "other" side of that issue. I suggest that if you don't want to hear it then don't broach the subject.

Yes, you know I was posting on a 'gay marriage' thread, and it is nearly impossible to get a point across in there without being called a bigot...I have very old fashioned, traditional beliefs, and although I can tolerate gay people, and treat them as they are human...I cannot, in any way shape or form accept their behavior as normal. In my eyes it is an blatant aberration, that should be kept as far behind closed doors as possible, so that the young people of today don't see it as normal...while they are in their impressionable learning years...

The way I do see it though, which makes it easier for me to swallow, so to speak, (no pun intended) is that in the big scheme of things, perhaps it is God's way of creating a not too drastic form of population control...But watch-out if I say that in some of the other forums...I immediately get pinned as having an Archie Bunker attitude towards gays...and thats putting it nicely. So needless to say, I dropped that discussion...I am so sick of the word 'hater', believe me, if I actually 'hated' gays...the gay-lovers would know it!
