| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,031 | Introduce Yourself! Welcome all, new posters to this forum, here's a chance to say hi and we can all get to know each other here. I will start off. I am Mr.Vicchio, been around here for a while, weathered the ups and downs of Volconvo and well, I am still here. I am a meteorologist for the Navy, I am stuck in Maine till Aug05 when I can head back to my home state of Texas. I am divorced through no fault of mine.. she decided she wanted to live back in her hometown and that was that... it sucked but that's life. I have two children, and am going to be married again in June to the most wonderful woman I could ever hope to meet. I am a Christian, formerly a Catholic but I have moved more towards non-dom churches. I am a Bush supporter though I have some problems with him namely on the LOST treaty and immigration. That's about all I can say.. oh yeah GO ASTROS! hehe Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

I want to belong too! Am I just being a baby? Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something. -- Plato [CENTER]and some Latin food for thought! | Molten Ash Location: Orange County, California Posts: 118 | Ok, I am just jumping right in ahead of all you people who have so much more experience here at Volconvo...And I don't mean to be pushy, I just have some time on my hands right at the moment so will take the time to introduce myself... I am a Conservative Republican, new to the opinionated aspect of it...Started with the 'Republican' ideals, at first because I thought that's what I was supposed to do, because my parents were. I slowly began to realize that the ideals of a Conservative, were not only something I had to follow, but they were something I believe in - and some things strongly at that. The Bush/Gore election was my first taste at voting or even caring about it. That became such a circus, but I watched a good friend of mine be reduced almost to tears when he thought that Gore would win. And he actually thought that Gore did win at one point when one of the news stations incorrectly released that he had won...and this guy was beside himself. He was going to go out & buy guns for us because he explained to me that it was going to be mayhem-with Gore elected, and he wanted to get a gun for us before they were banned. He may have been over the top and exaggerating things...But I was very intrigued by his staunch attitude and support for the Republicans. I was eager to form my own opinions, and wanted to be a 'strong supporter' of something, and I did give the liberal side every fair chance to catch my eye, I researched what I could about both sides, and I actually chose to talk to a very staunch, extremely intelligent and very big mouthed liberal friend of mine, and I did the unthinkable and brought up political subjects with him, hoping to hear something that would lean me towards the Liberals, so I wouldn't feel like I chose Republicans without knowledge to back it. Come to find out I did the right thing...And I know this because, I believe in most (but not all) conservative ideals, but more importantly...it was proven to me. I am one of those freaks that truly believes that it was a 'Divine Intervention' that George W. Bush won that first election...due to the events that took place in September the following year. I don't think that Gore or any other person would have done things the way Bush has, and I truly believe that, due to George W. Bush, I am safe living here. Maybe not completely enclosed in a plastic bubble of safety, but safer than I'd be if Gore was president. I still have to argue with some Liberal friends of mine, when they go on & on about Bush invading Iraq, and telling me 'so there, no WMD's were found in Iraq, explain what Bush is doing there now' I can only respond with I trust him & I support what he is doing, I am sure he knows more than I do about the happenings in Iraq, and I trust that he'll do the right thing. I believe in his faith, and I believe in him when he literally is reduced to tears...I believe that he truly loves this country and is doing what he is doing out of strong beliefs and morals...Do I believe in everything he does? No! But then again do I fully understand every aspect of Government activities? No. So I know I have a lot to learn...But I know in my heart I am in the right place. Sorry, the post said introduce yourself, not write an autobiography... :) Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something. -- Plato [CENTER]and some Latin food for thought! | Conservative Location: P-Town, OR Posts: 446 | hey all, im moustache.... Ive been posting on a mostly liberal forum for 2 years now, and just recently switched over to volconvo. i live in Portland Oregon....liberal central...so i have plenty of chances to argue with my liberal friends (which there are plenty)... im still in school, but am very bored with it. my history teacher is actually very very very far left on the political spectrum (maybe even a communist), and this pisses me off...every day in school he talks about marx, and how communism is imminent. i believe that he is actually trying to change the class into his own little army of communists... but anyway, i look forward to having great discussions with all of you conservatives! and I am a greek neo-con... greeks rock moustache Q: What's a conservative? A: A liberal who made it through adolescence. |

| Hot Lava Posts: 1,153 | I'm Logjam: relatively new to Volconvo, have been posting elsewhere for a few years. I'm an older fellow, just turned 60. Yes, it will happen to you all eventually; if you are lucky. I'm a retired US Marine aviator and a retired US Army infantrymen....it's along story. I taught history in high school for years, also taught economics, English and art. I was a flight instructor for several years as well. I'm married and have one grown child who has children. I'm a hard corps conservative. Some of my earliest memories are handing out, I like IKE buttons. Currently I live in Central Oregon, land of conservatives, but just a little way west of me it's a communists haven. I have lived in New York, Florida, Kansas, East Texas, Southern California, Northern California, Mississippi, London, Rome, Japan, Korea, Okinawa and the Philippines. |

| Supercalifragilistic Posts: 431 | Hm I already wrote about myself in the General Discussion thread. Anyways, I'm a 20-year-old law major that's an Enterpriser Republican. I've always held the strong belief that no matter our personal circumstances, there will always be a way in this country for us (as individuals) to better our financial situation. Although I believe that our social welfare programs are important for this reason, I also believe that they are heavily abused and taken advantage of; so I am for stricter policies regarding them. I'm against the providing of the majority of these benefits to illegals, as well as the "don't ask don't tell" policy regarding illegal immigration as a whole in this country. Primarily, I believe that the opportunities we are provided with are in need of being protected. Other than that, I voted for Bush, but I disagree with him on social security and believe that Medical/Medicare are the real problem that this country is facing ATM. Hm... I dunno what else to write. | Citizen #21521 Posts: 2,599 | Well I used to be a conservative/communist/nationalist teenager. Joined the army during the time of change. Half my platoon would read Mao Zhedong books in their spare time, the other half ran dotcom companies. When I left the army I got caught up in the liberal revolution and started my own company. Then I became conservative/communist/capitalist/libertarian/nationalist. Politically I'm a conservative by American standards and centrist by Asian standards. I support government authority in political matters, as long as the government is wise. When the government is corrupt, I'm not going to stand in the way of a revolutionary population. Economically I am centrist by American standards and liberal by Asian standards. I support free enterprise, semi-free trade (you need some control to prevent major disasters), and reduced taxes. Socially, I'm liberal by American standards, and shocking by Asian standards. I don't give a damn what anyone else does, as long as they leave me alone. Prostitution, homosexuality, gambling, drinking, drugs; if it's in your property, I don't care. Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you. |

| Retired Posts: 7,312 | Well, introducing myself in here feels weird. I actually applied for the forum as a joke - I thought the app. would go to V so I wanted to make him laugh from what I said: "I love Bush, he is my friend, I am a major right-wing conservative" which we all know isn't true. But when I accidentally got in here, I thought I'd stay as long as I'm permitted, and try to only speak on the matters where I do hold conservative views, which I do in almost as many areas as I hold liberal ones. And be very light in my debate when my view is not-so-conservative. For anyone who doesn't know already I'm 31, hold BA in psych that I'm not using. I've done sales for years and recently started a home-based consulting business that is not supporting me well yet. Democrats are too liberal for me and Republicans generally too conservative. Libertarians are too far into alomst advocating anarchy...so I don't know that I can ever fit into a political group. I am for limited government in some ways, but in a country as rich as ours am in favor of redistribution of wealth to the extent that no American should be without health care and enough food to eat and a place to sleep, as long as they are not willfully being lazy... personal liberties, along with personal responsibility....what else should I say? | Igneous Magma Location: PA Posts: 328 | I've been posting to message boards for a long time. I like debate but it became impossible to post here at volconvo with all the lefties drowning out any common sense that conservatives used in their posts. So I left. I recently had an invite to come back and try out the Conservative forum. So here I am again but I don't know how long I'll be here. I'll see how it goes. |
