| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Forum Name and Membership Is "The Conservatives" acceptable to all, or do we need to change it? Also, what are we as a group going to do about new members that apply to the forum? I think we should have some standards, what do you guys think? -Mr.Vicchio Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Moderator/nobody Posts: 1,566 | I hope you all and I have similar views on being a conservative. I've always considered myself a liberal Republican. I know some Conservative Democrats that for the most part share my views. I said that to open a question of 'are those with a conservative 'bent' open to join this forum?' Actually I don't care what title you hang on the group. As long as we can understand the thrust of the group, any name is fine. | |

We could quote something unconservative from a writer and then review it and decide the fate of the poster. Anyway it's a good idea to have a conservative group. Logjam | |

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Well I was thinking of letting mostly anyoen that applied that seemed at least RCNE conservative and seems stable. We can always vote people out too. Bishop is IMHO the type of Conservative I think would be a bad fit here. I mean, Nazi Christian Fundementalist sheep in reguards to anyone that voted or supports Bush is a bit much. Perhaps I am wrong, this is our forum, we hav eot live with the decisions we make. Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Calling on Conservatives / GOP posters! Look through that thread. And in a PM he called me out as abeing a leech on America for drawing a paycheck from Uncle Sam for doing work that the private Sector could do. I am in the Navy. That tell you something? Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Navy Veteran Location: Texas Posts: 6,335 | Just read it, and yes, this forum Bishop was CERTAIN was not going to happen, was hounding me claiming there was no support. Those two have thrived on setting what "is and is not" a conservative for far too long. Conservatives don't Vote for John Kerry IMHO. They may not vote Bush, or even at all, but no conservative I know would vote Kerry and call MAines two senators real cosnervatives... (I actually told my friends I bowl with that.. and they fell over laughing.) Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route? |

| Moderator/nobody Posts: 1,566 | Mr. V it is possible that the idea of conservatives as a group tips the balance that they enjoyed here. I don't really think it does, it may be more of a losing face effect. After all did not both of them predict failure in establishing a conservative forum? Personally I think all views are welcome in the open forum and should be openly debated. In this forum, generally we agree in principle, but may differ on applications. I personally supported the minuteman project. I hope it opens eyes of those inside the beltway that our immigration and border security programs suck. Well, you try living in Orange County, CA...and not support the Minuteman Project. Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something. -- Plato and some Latin food for thought! Si vis pacem, para bellum! | |

| Molten Ash Location: Orange County, California Posts: 118 | As for Bishop & PatrickHenry...that is strange, well not so much for Bishop, he seemed like the type to run if he doesn't get his way...But PatrickHenry didn't seem like such a big baby. Why did they get so bent out of shape over a Conservative group? | Conservative Location: P-Town, OR Posts: 446 | he's been pretty nice to me (patrick henry) and I think it would be a shame to see him go...even before he started attacking my political views, he sent me a pm saying he was sorry, but he had to start an attack on me. if he leaves, how many will he take with him? Patrick was very hospitable to me in another thread, even though I don't think he agreed with me, he did acknowledge that I had valid arguments supporting my position...I can't argue or disagree with someone open minded enough to see that. I hope that he stays...I will definitely tell him so.
