People who threaten to kill themselves for attension rant

I am sick and tired of stupid people who threaten to commit suicide over and over for years. Their main point of self pitty is that they are usless and that no one loves them. Of course you are usless, all you do is smoke weed and get drunk. You don't even try to be a productive human being. And of course no one cares about you, you never shut up about killing yourself or cutting yourself or throwing up your food. This is for any person out there that comes to me multiple times over the span of a year or more because they are so depressed over nothing and want to kill themselves: just do it. It will be a weight off of society's shoulders to have you gone.

well, when I read the title of the post, I was inclined to write "I like to get a bag of popcorn and watch." after all, it's not my place to stop them. my friend said she tried comitting suicide, I told her I had no sympathy, and she got pissed. proof that she just wanted attention. these are the people I laugh at because they usually are in pretty good positions and actually do have a lot of friends, money, and power. When was the last time you saw an ethiopian threaten to commit suicide? it doesn't happen because they aren't bent on attention and popularity, they are more worried about survival.

another reason why I hate western society, nothing but a bunch of whining, cry-babies who aren't happy with the tens of thousands of dollars in their trust fund.

same with bulimics, I just want to bitch-slap them. anorexia too. these people are not people, they are greedy bastards who have it all and want more.

Actuilly as someone who was scuicidial for 3 years due to clinical depression for about 3 years... it's not easy when ya are living a life that you can't find any joy in. It's really harsh actuilly... alot of people really listened to me and that really made my life a lot easier and they understood that I wasn't healthy and I needed to see someone and when I finially did a lot of my friends felt awsome for me. Its good having people to talk to, even abut dieing... unless it's over something stupid...

Well, the way I see it, as long as there's about 5 billion people that are less fortunate than me, I refuse to whine about it. sure, I get angry when people complain, a hypocritical action in itself, but I really don't see a reason to whine.

the thing is sometimes it's not wineing... some times it's really real. Depression is a heuge problem that very few people ever talk about and even less go see someone about it... friends really help em out kinda limping them along. It's not the best situation and hopefully their bodies correct themselves but other times ya do something horrid cuz someone wasn't their to take your hand and get ya through some really tough times. I remmeber fall to sleep for a year wondering why I was sitll alive and I didn't just end it all... not fun, but friends were there for me to listen to, and I want to be their for mine...

It's not a cry for help, it's a cry for attention. Anyone who was going to kill themselves wouldn't be here (or elsewhere) whining about it, they'd just do it.

Any time someone tells me they're going to kill themselves, I tell them to go ahead. I might even suggest some particularly painful ways to do it. Funny how none of them seem to run off and off themselves, isn't it?

They just whine some more.

yep, exactly. I told my friend danielle that I felt no pity for her, and she just got angry. she didn't feel depressed, she was furious because her plan didn't work. I hate suicidals. more air for me.

How about a friend who tries to commit suicide - let's say he tries to hang himself, but someone finds him before death and prevents the suicide. How would you feel about him? Would you have some sympathy?

There's a big difference between actually trying to do it and sitting around whining about it.

Personally, I support anyone's right to end their own life through whatever means they deem appropriate, so long as they don't harm anyone else in the process. But if you're going to do it... DO IT! Stop bitching and whining about it already!

Hell I would take it a step further. Let them go to a Judge and get a death certificate. Once they get one then they can go to a firing range and let the gun enthusiasts finish them off.

If someone wanted to put themselves in the way of bullets, I'd consider that someone mentally ill.

Unlike Hitler, who had thousands exterminated, I would consider a mentally ill person in need of protection. Starboys suggestion that we allow mentally ill citizens to sign up for a firing-squad death is over-reactionary ... to say the least.

Hitler had mental patients killed - but don't forget that eventually he put a gun to his own head and pulled the trigger.

There was more to Hitler's extermination of retards than that. It was based on a popular science at the time known as eugenics. He modeled his exterminations after american legislation calling for the castration of the mentally ill. The science has many reputable scientitst behind it - incliding Enrico Fermi, Sanger, Gilbert and Shrodinger.

Ok lets say a suicidal person did stand in front of a firing range and jumped out of the foliage just as the shots were being fired and was killed. This is just another valid method of suicide. Are you saying that all suicidal people are mentally ill?
You seem to be discriminating on method rather than act. Is someone who jumps off a bridge to kill themselves less menatlly ill than someone who shoots themselves in the head or takes pills? I would say no. If they are truely suicidal then they could well be in control just they cannot stand the thought of putting the gun to their own head so instead they just pop out from behind the firing target and get hit, kind of a passive way to go.....or you could just look at futuramas sucide boothes as the way of the future.... :)

On another note...
I personally am a supporter of the theory of eugenics, not through the same method as hitler obviously but the theory in itself is sound.
