Murder is always wrong.
Self defense and family defense are all legal. Whether it is legal for you to kill based on religion, is debatable. Stoics and christians (and other religions) are taught to not resist or repay violence with violence. I see the rational in that as well. I gues I would have to pray, if the occasion arose. It is not illegal to not resist.
