I don't trust the state near as much as you think I do. The difference between you and I? I know that change won't happen unless the average joe feels insecure, they don't. The US Government NEEDS to be overthrown, and hopefully it will, the sooner the better. But it does no good making paranoid claims about "big bother" you miss the real danger, the real enemy, and people ignore you.

Bush isn't the evil anti-Christ, he's a man doing what he thinks is right, and the Patriot Act isn't the harbinger of the Police State, you again, miss the true enemy.

The true enemies are those in power without anyone to answer to. Career politicians are a symptom, but not the cause, they are just bit players in the grande scheme of things.

The UN, and the supreme court.. theres where the REAL danger lies. The Us Election system keeps the really bad apples out, the American voter isn't stupid (not as stupid as you might think), but they are complecent. Bush's war against teror.. hey it's freeing 50 million peopel from religious zelots, GREAT more power to him. But back here, in the USA... 9 people can change the course of the nation... and no one can stop them. They create rights where none exsist, they try to cut-and-paste laws from other countries into the consitution... they are the rela danger. And the people.. are almost oblivious to it.

I agree with Mr.Vicchio, this is the biggest danger to not just this country but the world in general.

Take off the rose colored glasses and look at the history of the corrupt U.N.. recently. There is where the global danger lies.

The Supreme Court, it is a necessary function of government. Other than Life Time appointments, I'm not sure what could be a suitable alternative. Maybe keep the system but impose term or age limits, such as mandatory retirement at 70 and/or 20 years on the bench. That would be a way to get the rascals out..
