Poll: Is Bob a Complete Nut Job?

My opinion, based upon what I have read, is that he is over the edge and needs a shrink. He can't figure out that debating is an art that requires substantiation. Now, I know there are a lot of you folks out there that disagree with some of my positions. Some of you likely hate my guts. But I love all you guys, even Bob. Some of you are my friends, some are confirmed opponents, but I respect a devotion to the art of debate. Shoot, I come here for arguments, and it would be pointless if we all agreed.

But Bob is in a class by himself, in my opinion. He has figured out a way to remain in the margin of this place without getting booted, yet he has no backing for anything he says. What do you think of this member? Nutjob or just a little different?

Bob reminds me of a poster on another site who had the same problems of namecalling, smearing opponents and stereotyping any who disagreed with him. Ironically, his name was also Bob something-or-another. Neither is a nut job nor are they normal and they certainly are not geniuses. I think the word I am looking for is immature. Yes, that's it. Immature.

I really long for earnest debates without the aforementioned problems but I can't seem to find a place where the conservatives will engage in anything but broad-brushed stereotypes and petty namecalling. Bob is just another backbencher. They were so used to being in the minority and sniping at those in power that now that their side is on top, they don't know how to promote affirmative steps to solving problems because they are still in "backbencher" mode. I could not cast a sincere vote but I thought I should at least comment.

Bob is fun, it's easy to predict his next statement. It contains a) a reference to liberals being communists being nazis and being all-round evil guys. and/or b) a reference to everyone disagreeing with him being (a) and thus evil. and/or c) a reference to the superiority of the white american people and it's traditional values. and/or d) a reference to the government stealing money from his pocket. Mostly (a) and (b) and (d) though.

Basically the topics bob brings up are quite debatable, it's just the meaningless context he presents his views in, and the hatefull way of defending his views, which I find despicable.

he could probably do better if he didn't assume that everyone who disagreed with him was a democrat, liberal or leftist. and he could earn more credibility by not refusing to acknowledge the MANY liberal policies of the GOP..

I Have Read The Comments About Myself And They Are Interesting

Everything mentioned here I can comment on in just one posting. Please understand: I do see the Liberals and Liberal tendencies in the GOP, and deplore them, and I do see some Conservative people in the Democrat Party and do encourage them. Don't think I don't think and understand all the shades of grey, and all the nuances and exceptions that make up our world. There is nothing pure under the sun, so I would think we could agree on all that and Move On.

Now let's look at my posts which some find startling or unusual. YES, they are startling and unusual for intentional purposes. I want to encourage people to think outside the box, and I try to select subjects that the press will not tackle, and that are kind of taboo.

Canada, for example, is this big White Elephant Sacred Cow that is not supposed to be criticized. I took on the task and as usual stated it in a provocative way. I.E. "Put a wall up."

Red Cross, ditto the same comment, except "Abolish its tax exempt money."

Conservatives Unite on the Flame Board. Give it A for originality and excitement value, as well as it could lead to some shaking up and add interest to the forum. A little rebellion here and there is very good entertainment.

I may be many things, and some of them not so flattering, but one thing I am not is a Nut Case, whatever might be meant by that. I have a doctorate in English, and have held professional positions all my like and started a good number of businesses, have a wife and children, and live in the suburbs, and have a cat. I write a lot, and have published a lot of letters to the editors. But I'm not important. What I say is. And the things I say, and have to say, are in the thousands not just the few threads I have posted here.

One soul asked, where does he come up with stuff like that? I could answer that I have a high IQ, or that I am highly educated, or that I simply was taught to question everything, especially the cant of the majority view on things. I don't accept any of the standard issue crap that is dished out by Academia, The Elite Media, PC thinking, whether of the Left or Right. In short, I THINK FOR MYSELF, PERIOD, COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY, IN ALL THINGS. If everyone is going around salivating as to how we should dump a few billions into the teeming mess in the Indian Ocean, I question whether we should be sending one dime. If knee-jerk Pro-Life Conservatives demand that AIDS infected Democrat Heathen Women who have no health, no husband and no job, be FORCED at the point of a US Marshall's gun to bear a child they do not want, I say if they are so Pro-Life, why don't they get in bed and make some children. At this point they go ballistic.

One thing I do agree with was the comment about me: "Bob is in a class by himself." I'm sorry there are so few of me, but that statement is likely true. Question is, do all of you want to crucify me? It is up to you.

I think it's funny you can't post in the debate forums and have to take up residence here in flame central where a member can kick your derriere all day and you can't do squat. Hee,hee.
