A fine Texan! Then there's Ann Richards, who said of George "Mission Accomplished" Bush that he'd been born on third base and though he'd hit a triple. ![]() So let's make it an even dozen. ![]() Amused Location: Mid Atlantic Posts: 1,282 | I visited my sister in Houston for a week back in the summer of '78 (during the gas shortage) It was strange to see all those Texans at the service station waiting in line for gasoline. They weren't too pleased about it as I recall. I thought central Virginia was humid... I think Houston has us beat! The land was rather flat, I'm accustomed to rolling hills. Enjoyed the rodeo, but not the Texas size roaches or the wild geckos running around my sisters apartment that ate them. That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong. W. J. H. Boetcker |
